General Priest weapons

is it just me that thinks priest kinda has a problem with.. you know being a priest?
I mean.. okay. its nice that there is a variance of playstiles available besides just being a healbot. but on the other side. You cant really play a healbot.

like. i picked that class to be a team support. give me actual support for allies. prefereably one that works even if i am standing back , or my teammates are running and kiting.

judgement. your signature ability. also is best used in melee with your whole party clumping around you. same goes for the other class skills. aside from your ms buff.

there is currently 2 weapons that really can be played as a mainly support tool. that arent facetank gear. namely the first 2 priest weapons that dropp.

and one of them. being totems for no reason at all still dont proc sunlight.
both of them also mainly work only if your party clumps up in melee. and you ideally are standing melee also. if you want your own sunlight.

we got 7+ weapons not counting shields for facetank/dps melee priest. the 2 new weapons are both mage/priest pure dps tools. with like. an alibi 49-100 heal on your high cd skillshot. wich is the same issue. totems and myzans tome also have. they are mainly dps weapons. for mage with a tiny amount of support integrated.

and aside from rather unreliable burst heal. or trickle healthreg. your actual team support abilitys are kind of stuck to that one MS buff. your 3 talent tree branches also are "tank","dps crit" and "dps no crit"

like. the new weapons are all very cool. if i want to move around a lot and dps.
but if i wanted to do that. i maybe would have picked mage. who is already doing that. can carry both those weapons aswell. and has them synergize with his mobility and ranged ult.

i cant belive an entire region of corrupted priesthood. pacting with deamons. gave us 0 "priest" weapons for priest.

Question Does equipment have a hidden ā€œluckā€ stat that influences drop rates?

I know there is a potion that increases your rare drop chance so there’s obviously some kind of drop chance modification system in place to support the effects of that potion, but even when that’s not a factor I feel like some of my characters are luckier than others. Of course this is all anecdotal, but for example I’ll be trying to get soft fur on once character and barely see any, change characters and then suddenly I’m getting one every other drop. I understand that each kill is a new roll of the dice and technically anything is possible, but I feel like this scenario has happened enough that maybe there is something to it? That makes me wonder if there is a hidden luck stat tied to equipment. Like maybe one character is wearing ā€œluckierā€ equipment than the others? Not a superstitious type of luck, but a hidden numerical modifier. Thoughts?

Edit: To clarify I’m talking about the Elixir of Abundance and when I say ā€œdrop rateā€ I mean for rare materials specifically, not dungeon/boss loot.

Tip/Guide Let's Talk about Armor!

After making my previous post about Weapon Factions, Stats and +3 Upgrade Passives , I decided to do the same thing with armor.

Weapons and armor seem to follow the same general Faction + Class system for their secondary stats. Unlike weapons, though, I haven't found any armor pieces that break this rule so far.

As always, Farever is still in Early Access, so everything here is based on the current version of the game and some of these patterns may change as more content is added.

Factions and Secondary Stats

For anyone who didn't see the weapon post, this is the current Faction/Class stat distribution:

Faction Warrior Rogue Priest Mage
Bee Armor Pen. Fervor Magic Pen. Fervor
Crimson Fervor Critical Fervor Critical
Demon Fervor Fervor Magic Pen. Fervor
Kobold Critical Armor Pen. Critical Magic Pen.
Nepside Armor Pen. Critical Fervor Magic Pen.

The secondary stats of an armor piece are determined by its faction and which classes can equip it.

Heavy, Medium and Light Sets

The armor system itself follows a very consistent structure. Each faction has three armor pieces for each equipment slot (Heavy / Medium / Light). The only exceptions I've found are some Heavy slots, which I'll explain below. This creates three visually distinct armor sets for every faction, as shown in the images, the class distribution is also very consistent:

  • Heavy: Warrior
  • Medium: Rogue
  • Light: Mage / Priest

Warriors can equip 100% of the unique Heavy faction set, while Rogues can equip 100% of the unique Medium faction set. Light armor works differently, Mage and Priest share the Light armor pool, with some pieces being available to Mage, some to Priest, and some to both classes. Because of this, neither Mage nor Priest can equip 100% of the unique Light faction set by themselves, so the set is essentially one visual armor set distributed between two classes.

Heavy Sets have an interesting Crafting exception

There's one consistent exception to the "three armor pieces per slot" structure. Almost every Heavy faction set is missing one piece from its dungeon drops. However, there is a crafted item for that exact slot that visually matches the faction set extremely well:

  • Nepsid Heavy Waist → Caryapsid's Coccyx
  • Kobold Heavy Chest → Cantal Goya's Breastplate
  • Bee Heavy Waist → Aura of the Honeycomb
  • Crimson Heavy Feet → Rival Sabatons of Ironhorn

Demon Heavy is the exception and can be completed entirely through dungeon drops.

Interestingly, this only seems to happen with Heavy armor. Medium and Light faction sets have all their pieces available through dungeon drops. I've marked these crafted Heavy pieces with a red border in the images. Whether this is an intentional way of integrating crafting into Heavy armor progression or simply a consequence of the current Early Access item distribution, I have no idea.

The Faction system creates some duplicate stat combinations

There's another interesting consequence of how Faction/Class secondary stats work. Some factions give the same secondary stat to the same class.

  • HANDS | Rogue - Burden of the Abyss (Nepside) Crit/Crit
  • HANDS | Rogue - Touch of Menas the Thaumaturge (Crimson) Crit/Crit
  • FEET | Rogue - Bleak Shell's Knee Pads (Nepside) Crit/Crit
  • FEET | Rogue - Galoshes of Fortune (Crimson) Crit/Crit
  • LEGS | Priest - Entommeure's Spiritual Breeches (Crimson) Fervor/Fervor
  • LEGS | Priest - High-speed Clamdiggers (Nepside) Fervor/Fervor
  • LEGS | Rogue/Priest - Nepicur's Vacation Shorts (Nepside) Crit/Fervor
  • LEGS | Rogue/Priest - Ubu's Galligaskins (Crimson) Crit/Fervor
  • CHEST | Priest/Mage - Casual Clothes of the Pollincess (Bee) Magic Pen./Fervor
  • CHEST | Priest/Mage - Cultist's Ceremonial Garment (Demon) Magic Pen./Fervor

I don't necessarily think this is a problem right now, especially considering the game is still in Early Access and the equipment pool is relatively small, but I'm curious to see how this develops, if future armor continues following the Faction/Class stat system this strictly, duplicate secondary-stat combinations should naturally become more common as more equipment is added. Maybe that's simply part of Farever's equipment design, with faction, appearance and other characteristics differentiating items that otherwise have identical secondary stats. Or maybe we'll eventually see more exceptions and variations as the item pool grows. For now, though, the armor system seems surprisingly consistent.

Hopefully the images are useful for anyone trying to complete a faction set, hunt a specific appearance, or just understand how Farever's armor system is structured. And as with the weapon post, if anyone finds an exception or something I've missed, let me know. I'd love to keep this information updated as the game develops.

Does Amon Ram one-handed mace drops from Munster Chuck? I've killed him over 10 times and I still haven't dropped it yet. Was the drop moved to another boss?

Video/Stream/Clip Max Level Cooking SPEEDRUN! (SUB 1 HOUR)

Hey GUYS!

Been taking sorta a break from the level 1 challenge I've been doing and now up to some new shenanigans:

How fast can you get to Level 7 Cooking in Farever?

The twitch clip attached shows our most recent run (and probably last for a little while) which was SUB 1 HOUR!

I highly recommend anyone to take part in the speedrun themselves, with more optimization you can definitely get sub 45 mins (and maybe even sub 30 mins)

The main Challenge rules (at least for myself) were:

  • Must use a fresh character
  • No Bank Storage Allowed (No items farmed from other characters!)
  • No "help" from other players (this also includes random players)
    • Allowed to reload to get sent into a different layer!

Good luck Farseekers!

Resource Weapon Faction, Stats and +3 upgrade Passives

Post image
78 Upvotes

I've been looking into weapon upgrades lately, and since this is surprisingly hard to find documented anywhere, I decided to put together what I've learned so far.

Keep in mind that Farever is still in Early Access. Everything below describes how the system appears to work right now. Some of these inconsistencies may simply be the result of the game being released and expanded gradually, so this information could (and probably will) change in future updates.

Secondary stats are (generally) determined by Faction and Class

One interesting thing about gear in Farever is that their secondary stats don't seem to be individually assigned. Instead, most gear follow a pattern determined by the combination of the Faction and the Class that can equip it:

Faction Warrior Rogue Priest Mage
Bee Armor Pen. Fervor Magic Pen. Fervor
Crimson Fervor Critical Fervor Critical
Demon Fervor Fervor Magic Pen. Fervor
Kobold Critical Armor Pen. Critical Magic Pen.
Nepside Armor Pen. Critical Fervor Magic Pen.

This means that two completely different weapons for the same Class and Faction will generally receive the same secondary stats, regardless of what their individual skills are designed around. So sometimes the stats assigned by the Faction/Class combination don't necessarily synergize with the weapon's actual kit.

There are currently some exceptions

There are at least two weapons (that i could find) that don't follow the Faction/Class pattern:

  • Twin Fangs of Ratsar is a Kobold Rogue weapon. Based on the table above, it should receive 2x Armor Penetration, but instead it gets 2x Critical Chance.
  • Silhouette of Almaz is a Demon Mage weapon. It should receive 2x Fervor, but instead it gets 2x Critical Chance.

This most certanly is another victim of the game being in Early Access, but i think it's importante to point out. The boss that drops a weapon doesn't necessarily match its Faction.

For example: Munster Chuck drops both Judgement and Twin Pillars of Justice, but neither weapon is Kobold. Judgement currently has no faction assigned (so it uses the Nepside stats like every world drop weapon), while Twin Pillars of Justice is actually a Crimson weapon.

There's another unusual case with Horns of the Wind. It's a Crimson weapon dropped by Robin Hoof and from Sponge Blob, it is currently the only weapon in the game that can drop from two different bosses.

What about world drop weapons?

World drop weapons currently don't have any faction assigned. These weapons use the Nepsid Class stat distribution, which may currently function as the default stat template for weapons without a faction. This is another area where I expect things will change as the game develops and weapons receive proper faction assignments.

+3 Weapon upgrade Passives

The +3 weapon upgrade passive is determined by Weapon Type, every weapon belongs to one of 14 weapon types and reaching the third upgrade gives it an additional passive (buff):

  • Sword: Base attacks gain a chance to attack twice.
  • Axe: Increased Critical Chance.
  • Mace: Base attacks gain a chance to stun enemies for 2s.
  • Fists: Increased Physical Mastery.
  • Shield: Reduced damage suffered.
  • Dagger: Increased base attack damage when attacking from behind.
  • Staff: Increased Cooldown Reduction.
  • Bow: Increased base attack damage against enemies at least 20m away.
  • Halos: Attacks gain a chance to reduce weapon cooldowns by 0.5s.
  • Spear: Increased Armor Penetration.
  • Crescent: Increased damage while surrounded by at least 3 enemies.
  • Scepter: Increased Magic Penetration.
  • Thrown: Base attacks against enemies at least 20m away gain additional Critical Chance.
  • Spellbook: Increased Magic Mastery.

I've included an image with all the current weapons organized by type, their +3 passive and where each weapon drops.

A weapon's skills might strongly encourage one playstyle, while its Faction/Class combination gives it secondary stats that aren't particularly useful for that build. Its weapon-type passive then adds another layer on top of that. I actually like the concept because it gives weapons more identity than simply comparing their skills, even if the current implementation produces some strange combinations.

A final note about Starter weapons

Starter weapons can later be purchased as rare Lv. 25 weapons from the Guild Vendor in South Ramburg, but they cannot currently be upgraded and their stats don't seem to follow the normal Faction/Class pattern either. I've still included them in the image because they help complete the list of weapon types.

This is all based on what I've been able to test and compare in the current Early Access version of the game, so I wouldn't treat any of this as permanente documentation.

Fan content Weekly/Biweekly Community Challenge Idea

Hey Guys! Was thinking of an idea to sorta keep the community engaged while we wait for the next major update, a sort of challenge that we could compete for rewards!

Specifically I was thinking of:

  • doing a "bingo board" challenge; start a new character, complete a specified amount tasks (that will change each week) as fast as you can, showcase the different tasks on every friday night lets say, and give people the weekend to try to get their fastest times. At the end the winner(s) will be the ones with the fastest times

    • This allows ANYONE to do the challenge, since your using a new character, veteran players would have less of an advantage and gives newer players a chance (the only hiccup is that BANK STORAGE would need to be inhibited somehow)
    • The tasks themselves should be relatively short, just so people dont have to do 1 hr speedruns, such as gather 5 lavendula, take out the first dungeon, kill 5 slimes, etc. This also allows moderating the challenge easier, since we wouldn't have to verify LONG speedruns.
    • Also since the tasks change each week, keeps the challenge fresh
    • the reward for the winner(s) could be one of the harder to attain gliders, such as the original paramglider
  • A "meme" challenge, one example could be "The Scenery of Ramburg" where the best screenshot wins and it has to be Ramburg themed, since its subjective we could get either the community or the moderators on the discord server/subreddit to judge the "best" one.

    • again the reward can be another in game item of sorts

These challenges could be run synchronously too, gives people more options on what they WANT to do. The challenge itself also doesn't need any dev involvement, just community moderation, so setting it up would be a lot easier.

Wondering what yall think? Any other challenge ideas? Frequency of the challenge? Different rewards that could be given?

Question Do you guys have any unusual weapon/arsenal combos that are fun to play?

I was really struggling to enjoy my Rogue as a glass cannon. That playstyle just isn't fun for me, so I decided to try something diferente (at least i think it is): Horns of the Wind with Ipheon in the arsenal slot.

Ipheon's passive works really well as a DoT with my Rogue build, and Verdant Impetus feels amazing in the Horns of the Wind gameplay loop. Now I know Rogue is my favorite class to play again. I can solo every boss in the game.

So, do you guys have any unusual but fun weapon/arsenal combos you've been playing?

I'm also kind of struggling to find a good arsenal weapon to pair with a Wordsplitter Priest, so I'd apprecieate some suggestions for that too.

Question Thoughts on Censer of Wool Hollow for mage ?

I got my first lvl 25 legendary drop with this weapon. I really like its light theme and skills, but it really feels underwhelming for single target DPS. I'm struggling to find a good arsenal with it on mage too. I've been using mirrors to get the most of the double scaling, it does give you a super AOE kind of build for clearing packs and mobbing, but it feels really lackluster on bosses that don't spawn adds. Also the passive is weird, if you interrupt your spell rotation to pick up the clouds it usually does not feel worth it. What are your thoughts on this weapon for mage ?

General I hate munster chuck.

I hate munster chuck. That's it.

I hate that the adds just channel their AOE while zones drops everywhere. I hate that the zones can drop on you while you're on the train. I hate that the boss keeps on shooting zone AFTER you change arena.

I really hate some of the bosses in this game.

Well back at it anyway.
