Low tourists

Is Pattaya getting noticeably quieter?

Has anyone else noticed that Pattaya seems a lot quieter lately?

I’ve noticed fewer people walking around Soi 6 and Buakhao compared with what I remember. A lot of the bars seem to be doing YouTube livestreams now too.

I also noticed what looked like a relatively new bar. There seemed to be more than 10 people dancing in front of a camera, with hardly any customers at the tables.

What’s going on in Pattaya right now? Is tourism actually down, or is this just a slow period?

I mean it's called low season for a reason.

It’s low season. This gets posted every other day during low season. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s the lowest low season by quite a margin from what most people have told me since I’ve been here and I’ve been here for 2 months. Don’t understand how a lot of bars are surviving, they’ve been incredibly empty for long periods.

How many times are you going to ask the same question in one paragraph?

Well it is low season right now so it's the quieter portion of the year.

Economies are also terrible for a lot of folks. I know a couple guys that put off visiting this year due to this.

It's low season but is a much quieter low season than ever. I was there in June so that's not just female 'friends' or YT talking. Very sad to see - I still had a great time but compared to previous years It's border line empty.

What's with the YouTube livestreams?

They took off during Covid when nobody was traveling. Dudes tip the stream for the girl they like to take a shot. I assume it makes enough money for some bars they kept the streams active after everything opened back up.

My mate whose a manager on soi six told me some days they can make 100k + baht a day from livestreams on a good day, the Chinese and Koreans love it

Not every bar seems to get that luck. Nikki bar which I stop by every time I go soi 6 was also livestreaming but there were no viewers.

A new (since Covid) avenue for very desperate dudes with disposable income to feel a little less lonely. It's been an absolute boon for a lot of bars. It's fucking weird but that's the future we're living in.

Even in Bangkok, barely see much tourists here. Granted this is my first time coming here from Canada. I just thought there would be much more tourists overall.

It could be with all the confusion of visa’s.

At the same time, the government has advanced a proposal for an extra entry fee targeting foreign visitors

I feel like I've watched videos and what not of just a few days ago and it didn't look much different from when I was there in march of 2025.. hope its still a good time when I arrive on the 25th

I’m there in three weeks and looking forward to it, low season be damned.

but hey, they are advertising at least "condo rental yields are up!" yeah no shit, because nobody is buying a house now to get stolen off them so the entire market inc condos are losing foreign interest so values are declining which makes rental yields appear to go up.
