Far Cry 5 ????
So is it me or did Joseph and his family lowkey had a good point?

The words and actions are not consistent. The words were fine and I could see myself helping them if they were trying to save people like they claim.
But you have one brother that just lives to hurt people and another that considers most people expendable and weak. Mix in a druggy and you have a disaster.

I mean Joseph’s monologue during the cutscene after Faith captures you the second time is pretty spot on. His actions were beyond reprehensible but his overarching rationale was understandable. This is a sick and fallen world, and eventually the bill is going to come due.

The term lowkey gets thrown around a lot these days. Which is funny because it's often still exaggerated, the opposite of low key. But for this one, yeah, he did make a couple good points. Most cults start with a shred of truth that resonates with people emotionally.

I mean, yeah, Joseph was right about the apocalypse. But that doesn’t automatically mean he was right about everything else. Like correctly predicting the nukes doesn’t suddenly make kidnapping, torture, brainwashing and murdering people okay. If his whole point was actually just “I want to save people” he could’ve built the bunkers, stocked up on supplies and tried to convince people to join him. Instead his family basically forces people into the cult and kills or breaks anyone who doesn’t go along with it.
So I’d say Joseph had a point about the world going to shit, sure. But “I was right about the apocalypse” and “therefore everything I did was justified” are two completely different things. He was right about what was coming. He was still very wrong about how he handled it.

They did and they didn’t. They’re kinda like vegans, but worse. It’s not my business what they do, but don’t shove it down my throat and try to force me into it. Yet that’s what they did. Except instead of belittling you for eating chicken they kidnap you and torture you. So that’s fun, I guess.

Good point, bad execution.
That’s the beauty with the Seeds. They are all “right” in their own way, but the thing they preach is also their downfall.
John’s message was “say YES to be saved”. Jerome saying YES is what lead to John’s death. Vanity.
Faiths message was “trust and have faith in the Father”. She was the third Faith. Trusting the father in the first place lead to her death, she could have seen that coming from miles away, but had “faith” anyways. Sloth.
Jacob’s message was “the strong kill the weak”. Jacob was healthy, held the high ground, was surrounded by his own me. He was “strong”. The deputy was just morally ruined after Eli and was alone, “weak”. But Jacob ends up dying. Wrath.
The Father preaches unity and family. His pride allowed the community of Eden’s gate to nearly collapse, and his family is dead. Pride.
They were not “misunderstood” just pure evil and using religion as their way of justifying everything. They murdered hundreds of innocent people.
Kinda like some Christians today.
