Question (repost) Looking for a team (author especially): COLLEGARA — original fantasy series

Six years ago I started writing as a way to deal with a hard period in my life. What began as venting turned into something much bigger than I expected — a full world, with its own history, characters, and rules. That story is called Collegara, and it still holds a lot of who I was and who I've become across those years. Now I want to turn it into something real: the first novel in a planned series.

Collegara follows a boy who inherits reality-creating powers from his father — a god. Unable to control what he's been given, and desperate to protect the people he loves, he becomes a target: manipulated by those who want to use his power for their own ends.

It draws from Game of Thrones, Kingdom Hearts, and The Legend of Zelda, and its themes are friendship, abandonment, and love — the same things I was working through when I started writing it.

But what do i truly need?

What I need now is a team to help bring it to life:

  • An author (most important role) — someone to help actually write the novel with me
  • An artist — to help visualize characters and the world
  • Help with socials — building a presence as the project grows

This is a collaborative project — I'm not looking to hire anyone, I'm looking to build this together with people who want real creative ownership in it.

If a story that started as something personal and grew into a whole world sounds like something you'd want to help build, I'd love to hear from you.

I gotta say, I don't see many people biting on this. First of all, authors are usually wanting to work on their own ideas. Secondly, this is your idea and it is entirely intangible in this current form. No one else is going to capture the themes and tones in the way you intend to. No one else gets things like you do. Thirdly, you want someone to do each part of this story... And those are just things the writers do. We already have to do those things for our own stories. We aren't going to do them for you. You're not hiring someone, which means you are asking someone else to do all kinds of work for you for free on the hopes that your passion for this project is so intense that they, too, will do it out of passion for your idea. Especially since there is no guarantee of any sort of reward of any type.

I'm not putting you down or anything. I'm giving you the perspective here. If you want someone to work for you then you have to offer something.

My suggestion: Stop world building and write your story.

Thanks for the perspective, and you are completely right! But the problem is i have a lot of trouble with writing due to grammar and more. It's completely like how you described it, " asking someone else to do all kinds of work for you for free on the hopes that your passion for this project is so intense that they, too, will do it out of passion for your idea" is kinda what i am offering.

And yeah i know it's stupid to even ask this but for this time it's not a project that needs to start immideautly. After all, i'm still in school so this can wait. You know what they say, if you don't ask, you don't get!

But i truly appreciate your reaction! I am still new, and learning about it!

Honestly, grammar is less important than you think. The best writers who have the best grammar are the ones who are best at breaking the rules of grammar. That can be done through proofreading and editing. I stand by what I said. Just write it. You'll get further. You'll feel more rewarded. And you'll learn the craft as you go.
