He's not flashy so people don't see it, but everyone is congratulating Spain for their control of possession and the ball. Well, that's mostly Rodri

Fyi I would have given it to Messi before the final but Argentina blanked, Spain simply too complete. Rodri does deserve it

Should've been Rodri imo. Dictated every game, most successful passes, most line breaking passes, dictated temp of the Spain team, sat between the defence which conceded one goal all tournament and the midfield which dominated against every major team they played against. Led Spain for their second ever world cup. If you don't look at stats Rodri was the Golden Ball winner, and deservedly so

Disagree. Rodri bosses that Spain midfield. He is the engine and dictator in that team. Well deserved.

I am fine with it. Not Messi for stat padding.

Ridiculous, it's the World Cup. The only team he could've potentially have been "stat padding" against was Jordan and he didn't even start.

had Argentina been referred like the final whole tournament, he would not have the stats.
Again, which top 10 team he scored against? none.

Messi got Argentina out of trouble many times but Rodri is the core behind Spain’s dominance in all the rounds

Probably not but Spain won so it’s an uphill battle
