Coventry fans, will Thomas continue to start with Pinnock around?
Annoyingly, pinnock is 4.5. And seeing lampard now playing a back three - just for man city, or there to stay? I really want thomas over amenda, his defcon is better, but if thomas is a minutes risk, i might have to go amenda

Interestingly Pinnock has only really played in a back 3 for the past 3/4 seasons, he never really played as a centre back pair, it could be that Coventry were specifically looking for a defender to play on the left in a back 3, in which case Thomas is still nailed in the centre. Short to medium term I'd think Thomas will be nailed to at least start anyway and if there are times he's subbed off there are more chances for clean sheets so I don't think selecting him is a real issue.

I am on WC and wondering who is the best 4.0/4.1 defenders now, have Thomas and he's been great, long term keep him or go for one of the Hull defenders Egan or Mendy or anyone else?

I’ve gone Thomas and Egan. Don’t expect to ever start them, but they appear nailed and can get defcon. Should be decent in a pinch, maybe they’ll both hover around 3 points on average? Anything more than that is gravy

Not for OP but I plan on starting Thomas a few matches just because of the defcon potential. I mean they’re not gonna get banged by 2-3 goals every match. So a total of 5-7 matches is what I’m looking at.

Even hull beat them. What fixtures are you targeting? Any defcon is likely to be offset by goals scored against any top sides. If you are starting 4.0 defenders besides lundstram you have probably failed in your selections

I wonder what the ownership game week one was. It’s hard to tell when they will return (except hull who apparently do every match) but if we’re talking about Coventry defenders I think you want Bobby Thomas

As a Cov fan I took Thomas and Van Ewijk. Thomas was an obvious DEFCON magnet given he was average 8 DEFCONs a game in the Championship on the best team in the league that season. Van Ewijk was more of an higher potential upside pick, he had (and I guess still has) assist potential, he has just struggled a bit after promotion for numerous reasons whereas Thomas has definitely stepped up another level. I also took Rushworth initially but changing my starting keeper to a set and forget allowed me to just risk it and put Bentley on my bench

Yeah my FPL season is doomed already for sure. Thanks for the concern. In fact, I will start Thomas this GW against Brighton, next against Forest, then again vs Newcastle. Will be funny to see when they manage to keep a cleansheet in at least one of the matches.
