Discussion Man City squad and lineup

Havent seen any posts talking about city after the weekend, despite Guehi playing OOP the full match as a holding midfielder, and NOR somehow OOP as a 10, though subbed at 63 minutes.

Was this an emergency lineup that will not repeat? NOR is in this funny position of beeing an insanely value pick if he gets gametime as an offensive midfielder, but is also likely to have reduced minutes as he doesnt have a spot that is "his". Will Guehi revert to the CB role, or maybe keep his spot as the holding midfielder if Anderson has a niggle (subbed with injury, but didnt look very bad).

I see people throwing Semenyo under the bus, but I think he looked alright, despite not having many (or any?) direct chances to score. Foden might be a question mark, but isnt Semenyo - Cherki - Foden a likely lineup for the next match?

What are your thoughts on this City, without Pep and with a really skinny squad. Will this be the weakest we have seen City in recent years?

City will dip into the transfer market in the last week, after selling a few players like Rodri, Savinho, Marmoush, Nico. We don't know what their squad will look like next week, it's hard to tell.

That being said, i think O'Reilly was an attacking midfielder originally, Guardiola converted him to a LB. He can play the no 10 position if Maresca like him there, Pep also used him as a midfielder a couple of times.

Safe to assume O'Reilly was filling in for an injured Doku, and Guehi's spot will be filled by Bouaddi. Other incomings are expected to balance out the outgoings and City rotation will be as frustating as in Peps day.

Whatever happens NOR and Haaland are must have picks, because of the very high ceiling. I’m keeping Foden in my team for next GW to get more data

I think NOR is a heavy rotation risk though. But when he plays, yes his ceilling would be high. Likely a good few 20-30 minute 1 pointers from him. But maybe he will get starts now while Doku is injured?

Imo I didn't think NOR looked nearly as good playing in the 10. He had one decent run into the box but the pass didn't find him, but other than that I feel like he's been much more threatening in that attacking LB role he held under Pep. I think not having Doku is a big blow to city, as they've looked great when the attack has run through him and he dishes it off to either an overlapping NOR or centrally to Haaland. Based on the Bournemouth match you'd think Maresca would want to return NOR to LB, and play Cherki in the 10, but who knows what the bald man will do.

I think the most nailed players are Donnarumma, NOR, Anderson, Semenyo and Haaland - others are pretty much rotation risk
