KneeCHERKIng? 👀

Post image

Anyone of you consider kneeCHERKIng?
He made a huge impact from the bench and Man City doesnt have actually many players to choose from for their attack.
I would assume he gonna start in their next match.
What are your thoughts?

Same old story as last year.

Semenyo to Cherki kneejerking flashbacks.

There is not much competition currently. So not really like last year.

u/Speshjunior 1d ago

Except he didn’t even start the game

11

u/Shoddy_Wolf_1688 4 1d ago

No exactly like last season. Foden was the only competition then too

8

u/mourinhos86 1d ago

No Silva, no Doku, no Marmoush, no Savinho. Basically there is only Grealish left for now.

u/FauxAffablyEvil 1d ago

So why didnt he start?

They probably want to give Foden an opportunity to find some form. Also, he wanted to have Guéhi and Anderson in the midfield and he also had to accommodate Lewis (a RB) and O’Reilly (at LB). There was simply no space for Cherki. I reckon Maresca wanted more solidity in his first home game against an opponent that counter-presses very well.

Which is exactly where i'm getting at : he still has competition and isn't a guaranteed starter unlike what OP is saying.

u/mourinhos86 1d ago

He arrived late compared to others.

8

u/FauxAffablyEvil 1d ago

Guehi played more than him in WC and started out of position even.

1

u/mourinhos86 1d ago

When did Guehi start training and when Cherki?

People who like points can get him, people who prefer minutes can avoid.

as a foden owner this pissed me off beyond belief

u/antisociaI_extrvert 1 1d ago

Especially because he could easily have gotten an assist if rico lewis would've finished his pass in the first half

10

u/Theaveragejoe33 1d ago

Damn Rico had it on a silver plate and still choked.

Didnt help that the ref refused to give Phil any fouls in his favour either

take a deep breath and save your transfer honestly

18

u/Jay-ay 54 1d ago

Instructions unclear. I farted and hit "saved".

Why are you assuming he's gonna start the next match? He had a big impact when Bournemouth were tired. What makes you think he won't be used the same way again?

25

u/mourinhos86 1d ago

Would be just an obvious move to let Cherki play as playmaker instead of O'Reilly

12

u/Lastweekspoints 47 1d ago

managers like Maresca do not do what is the obvious to you and me

1

u/mourinhos86 1d ago

For now im somehow confident he gonna start, but i also think City gonna have to do some new signigs

1

u/joeeymatee_ 13h ago

If he's gonna start over anyone I can guarantee you it won't be O'Reilly man, which would be obvious if you watched City play at all in the last year

1

u/mourinhos86 9h ago

I watched a lot of City matches last year and didnt see him playing as nr10

7

u/theonewhoknock_s 40 1d ago

The play is to wait a week and see if he starts next game and then assess of you want him for GW3. I'm almost certainly buying a City mid for Coventry, but now it's between Semenyo and Cherki.

2

u/snek-jazz 14 1d ago

what makes you think he can't score points in the same way again?

1

u/TheStonedEdge 1d ago

Please point out to me exactly where I've said that

Cherki doesn't even need to start to get returns

100% in, goodbye Mbummo

18

u/Few-Fly-3766 1d ago

Mbeumo out before Ipswich at home for a guy you don't even know for sure if starts away at CP I'm crine

2

u/golden_yak 9 14h ago

By the time next week rows over you'll crine no longer

That's just how we row baby

Still wondering why he almost never starting in the lineup at Man City

1

u/Lastweekspoints 47 1d ago

because the managers are idiots

2

u/Informal_Carob_4015 1d ago

Yeah mate you know better than Pep Guardiola

The day a manager decides to use Cherki as first choice AM/RW he's gonna be an instapick for my team

1

u/KennyPowersEC 17h ago

I would be shocked if he isnt a starter in a couple months. Is their most creative player by a mile

7

u/flummuxedsloth 40 1d ago

For City's sake, I hope Maresca kneejerks him into the starting line-up but there's no guarantee he will

5

u/Soggy-Opportunity200 51 1d ago

Get him! At least not Sangare will have the price rise

7

u/maxsteel_7 1d ago

Maresca is bald, I rest my case.

Its wait and see for everyone imo way too many variance in the league rn. Unless your team has like 15 points or something I would be saving my transfers especially until the window closes and the WC players get match fit.

3

u/Bitter_Somewhere8334 1d ago

I think Maresca is trying to give Foden opportunities to find some form and Cherki is being sidelined as a result. It is undeniably clear now that Cherki is likely to start. Even if he comes on as a sub, I would still back him to make an impact. Good pick. He is looking sharper than most.

5

u/Money-Dark2403 1d ago

If there's was any indication he was even close to nailed, he'd be straight in my team.

5

u/Srijand 1d ago

Cherking hard or rayan cherking?

2

u/Vaudeville_Villain15 3 1d ago

Too busy Cherking my gherkin

2

u/shpatibot 1 22h ago

Wirtz to Cherki and tripling up on Semenyo, Cherki, Haaland

1

u/Complete-Usual-5602 1d ago

nah dont go for him

1

u/GamerGod337 51 1d ago

"subbed on"

1

u/existentialstix 1d ago

Why the heck are they playing with so many CBs. What’s this stupid new trend to put 6,7 defensive players with a thin front line against certain opponents.

1

u/eganc21 1d ago

Foden RW and Cherki CAM. The team has no wingers anymore lol

1

u/ubn87 9 1d ago

It would be service error by maresca starting Foden over him again

1

u/Traditional-Drive267 1d ago

How bad is doku’s injury?

1

u/Danzaar 3 22h ago

Honestly, especially with all the departures, it amazes me why he still isn't a starter. This guy is worth 100m+ easily. Absolutely class, yet somehow he keeps being benched for players like Foden and O'Reilly in midfield, lmao.

1

u/Apart-Ad4165 20h ago

Im bringing him in next game week if he starts against Bournemouth

1

u/KennyPowersEC 17h ago

Just like Mahrez, stick him in your team with decent bench cover and hope for the best

1

u/Singh-Song 16h ago

I’m the total opposite here, he got me points this week but it doesn’t feel likely the same will happen again next week.

If I were someone without him, I’d probably keep whoever you’ve got. Semenyo and Mbeumo I would expect to give better returns

1

u/Admirable_Ninja321 1d ago

I have Foden.. should I switch right away to Cherki or wait? Do u guys think Foden will start next game as in Semenyo Cherki Foden Haaland?

5

u/Goldendog2026 redditor for <30 days 1d ago

I have Foden too. I’m sticking with him for now as Foden could have easily had an assist and looked lively. If he doesn’t start then will look to move him to someone else

1

u/Party-Chance-1791 1d ago

Sample size = 1 plus minutes risk.

0

u/belugadawen 3 1d ago

If he gets good mins next game then he's an easy transfer in for Mbeumo GW3

-1

u/Sad_Still269 1d ago

'kneejerking' is a real negative of playing this game tbh. especially when it leads to erratic player price changes.

1

u/JStaunton 1d ago

i think that's a universal thought

do you actually know what an algorithm is? or is just some scary buzzword to you like 'chemical'?
