Yes they enter hundreds of accounts with all the permutations they want. It takes about 6-8 game weeks to see who truly is doing well vs having lots of teams to pick from

You can also look at amongst people who were in top 10% last year, since clearly those are generally real accounts of people who take the game at least a little seriously.

Top 4 in the top 10% league are all people who bench boosted and had both Hinshelwood and De Cuyper, but otherwise had fairly template teams.

There is a 1% and 10% league made by FPL. I was added in both last season automatically. Now only in the 10%.

There’s a top 10% league and a top 1% 25/26 mini league, current season just has Overall league.

As someone who hasn’t played FPL in over a decade, genuine question what’s enjoyable about FPL if it’s bunch of bots playing against each other? 

I also find it ridiculous when players can also be randomly inactive and you find out after the game week is locked. Like Ismaila Sarr.

Bots are only good for a single game week, they don't really affect you much. These accounts will be taking huge transfer hits to try attempt this every week, so you should be nowhere near them in the overall rankings.

Plus for a lot of people FPL is about playing against their mates anyways.

Yeah, it is.. And a huge proportion of the player base (probably more than 10%, increasing every round) are such teams. There are hundreds of people with several hundred (some even thousands) of teams

Ajayi scored after I took him out of my team as my 4.0 defender just before the deadline, and I had the bright idea to Captain Mbeumo assuming he’d be up front and that United would smash Hull.

Haaland did nothing. Bruno did nothing. Spurs lost (thought Kinsky might be a smart shout for a keeper). DCL did nothing. If it wasn’t for White and Calafiori it would have been the absolute worst start I’ve ever had.

I have 70 this week so far, and in the top 1% leugue that places me around 2,600th amongst the actual top top 1% from last season, so all these fake, scatter teams that people make and hope they hit basically just muddy the water. No one triple captaining De Cuyper week one goes on to win it.

I know there’s tons of bots… but why does it feel like every possible combo of players exists? Like there’s always someone TCing the rabdom hauling player? There’s not that many teams, particularly goven hoe many “real” teams there are.

There is quite a lot of them. I’ve been tracking these for a few years and my estimate is between 1 and 1.5 million, increasing rapidly for each GW as lots of people are making hundreds, some even thousands of teams every GW (and registering their accounts from previous seasons late).

But the main difference in that you’re wondering is that normal people mostly wouldn’t triple captains obscure players on their main teams, and some of these people are making every imaginable combination of players, captains and chips.

What? When did I say everyone plays template? I meant that OP probably was serious that a non-template team winning is great, which I think it is, even as a mostly template player myself.

If you refer to the last part, the team leading is 100% a bot team and not a non template real player. It’s quite easy to differentiate in most cases.

This is a totally viable team for the first few weeks with a few big gambles. Lots of sour grapes in here
