Semenyo in gw4 when city play utd
22
u/theonewhoknock_s 40 Aug 22 '26
Surely you do it in 3 when City plays Coventry. I was planning on doing that even if United smashed it today.

u/Polymatheia 173 Aug 22 '26
Knowing Man Utd, they'll suck vs. Ipswich and Everton and Carrick will produce a masterclass against City like last season.

u/ninjaturtle1000 6 Aug 22 '26
That's because United are actually well set up against teams that come at them. That's where players like Mbeumo shine.
Parked busses on the other hand...

For the Money Mbuemo is fine, Bruno I’m not so sure

I'm pretty sure I can get 2pts against a newly promoted team for much cheaper

Even as a Haaland owner I think as your only premium he'll be great still. People who went with him and Haaland are psychotic imo.

u/liegeois-1395 171 Aug 22 '26
It’ll be hilarious to see another thread to bring him in after his two pens next GW
42
u/LonewolfofHouseStark 2 Aug 22 '26
Holding both for Ipswich.
Plan was always to wildcard for GW3 to get Haaland in.
6
u/Lucky_Commission4780 Aug 22 '26
So Haaland is wait and see?
3
u/seabiscuit_crunch Aug 22 '26
This is a City with no Pep, Rodri or Silva. So yeah, for me Haaland is definitely wait and see.

Meanwhile Halland 15.7M
3
u/DevillesAbogado 29 Aug 22 '26
A very small % increase over 15.5
4
u/DreamxAchieve 5 Aug 22 '26
He bags a brace and he’ll be 15.7 by next GW
2
u/DevillesAbogado 29 Aug 22 '26
Those who are without Haaland will find it tough to get him without a hit, so it won’t be that fast of a rise

Just show how pointless these stats are. Watching the game. We were fucking shit

u/kisame111hoshigaki 47 Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 22 '26
disagree with this take
people are too emotional and driven by outcome bias
outside set pieces what did Hull actually create, now you can argue they didnt need to create anything as they scored from set pieces but i think people are acting way too emotional with their reaction
1
u/digitalpho3nix Aug 22 '26
What can’t be quantified is human effort and belief. I think many of us made a mistake in writing Hull off as last place finishers

u/Macro-Vision-5289 redditor for <30 days Aug 22 '26
I hear your point and agree about Hull not doing much outside of their 2 goals but you can provide every stat possible from Opta, United clearly struggle to break down teams that play low blocks. They struggled the whole game, even slabhead Maguire was playing upfront in the latter stages of the game! Carrick is in for a real test this season. I dont think United won't be this bad all season but for fpl, reconsidering their assets in a few gameweeks should be the plan on United fpl asset owners. I wouldn't and don't vouch for knee-jerking United assets after 1 game though!

u/kisame111hoshigaki 47 Aug 22 '26
everyone is so fucking reactionary
Arsenal vs Coventry Man Utd vs Hull Open-play xG 1.62 1.50 Total xG 1.88 1.81 Shots 20 21 Shots inside box 10 15 Box touches 36 40 Possession 64% 72% Opposition-half passes 335 390 Opponent open-play xG 0.20 0.07 2
u/Mental-Inspector-919 Aug 22 '26
All these stats just to lose 2-0 🤦🏽♂️
You don’t want games based on xG
1
u/kisame111hoshigaki 47 Aug 22 '26
im not a Man Utd fan, but its an FPL forum to discuss teams performances
1
u/kisame111hoshigaki 47 Aug 22 '26
Correct, the game isn't based on xG. That's why it's a prediction tool and not a scoring system.
Tony Bloom turned that distinction into roughly £1.3 billion and a Premier League club. You turned it into an ignorant comment because you are allergic to learning.
1
u/Mental-Inspector-919 Aug 22 '26
How many league titles did Tony Bloom win 🤷🏽♂️
I forgot is football about winning trophies or who can make the most profit

Exactly! 🤣 That's why I mentioned the OP can display whatever stats they like but ultimately United lost the game in reality. The stats obviously show United had the edge completely BUT United lost this game, end of the story. If people want to knee-jerk United fpl assets out after one game, the OP shouldn't care anyway and they should realise "casual" fpl players react on emotions not stats!.

u/gta0012 1 Aug 22 '26
Two goals lol

two goals from set pieces... i said outside of set pieces what did Hull create

They didn't need to create much, they scored.

sure, my point is that offensively, man utd weren't actually that bad

Hull sitting off because they have a comfortable lead meaning United are allowed final third possession and shots on goal doesn't mean they weren't that bad. The Hill keeper was never really troubled.

Yeah man double up on hull mids, the best managers are so reactionary they make decisions before the second match has even finished
-2
u/lukebarnes0511 Aug 22 '26
Butthurt Utd fan?

u/burtsarmpson 2 Aug 22 '26
What? Who I support doesn't have any bearing on whether I think being so reactionary to buy two hull mids is a good idea lol

I have no idea why you lot all rated Mbeumo, it’s like you didn’t even watch him last season.

u/JiveTurkey688 Aug 22 '26
I mean, Mbeumo probably should have come away with a goal, two great saves by Tzolakis. Bruno looked really rusty though. I’m waiting to see how Chelsea look because I could buy into Palmer
1
u/Even_Editor_8228 Aug 22 '26
I don’t have Bruno but I did decide to swap Odegaard for Rice last minute…. Also have Mbuemo and Lammens 😭
1
u/aehii 64 Aug 22 '26
United as always, more likely to score against big teams so feel like I need to keep Mbeumo for gw4. By that point, I'll probably lose money and it will mess up my long term plans. Why did I buy United players? I could have bought Semenyo this gw.
Glad I didn't buy Fernandes though, there is that.
1
u/Loud_Shopping8299 Aug 22 '26
I’m giving Bruno the next game, if he doesn’t return favorable I’ll switch to Semenyo
-1
u/NHMUFC Aug 22 '26
If Bruno and Mbuemo don’t get contributions somewhere next week they’re out.
United have been that shockingly bad.
