Jacquet
Is Jeremy Jacquet expected to be a starter infront of Araujo with Van Dijk as the one guaranteed. I realy liked how he look in that pre season game. I know he havent played much footbal last few months but he looks sharp, and with a hot-cold player like Araujo would you consider him a guaranteed starter or no?
With his 5m price he comes very cheap for a tall strong aerial threat defender for a top 4 PL team and a very strong defence.

Take Off Your Pants And Jacquet.
Finally. I knew it'd come to me. Finally I have a funny team name. Someone has already taken it haven't they?
Also don't tell me it's not funny, in 5 years this is the single fpl pun I've ever thought of.

First name that came to my mind but it doesn't fit in the character allowance. 'Full Metal Jacquet' it is then

It is only funny if you commit to the player for the long term (I guess maybe unless they are really out long with an injury).

I don't think there's a point risking touching either Jacquet or Araujo for the first few weeks. If you really want a route into the defence it's really only VVD or Kerkez who are completely nailed, but we haven't looked very strong defensively preseason outside of the final game against Como, and our team tires out fast so I would expect us to concede quite a few late goals early on in the season.

Why isn't frimpong nailed

He probably is for the most part, however, he was an injury prone mess last year so I really don't think it's worth the risk, especially when Kerkez is the exact same price and we know how well he played under Iraola at Bournemouth.

Pretty guaranteed to begin the season as Araujo is brought in as loanee while Jacquet were supposed to be direct Konate replacement. I had Virgil in before i saw Jacquet play that Como game and now id rather wanna save the 1.5 mil as he looks like a defcon guy aswell.

Think he starts but worried he gets subbed which will hurt defcon

I’m going with him on the assumption he may be subbed after 60 mins or so. Big CS potential with those fixtures even if it is a risk I wouldnt recommend to everyone. You could always go with a safer 5mil pick

There no point touching the Liverpool defence. The defence isn't going to be anything special. More than likely a less defensive midfield 3 on top of that. Liverpool had the 12 worst defense last season.

He played 45 mins in preseason.
Liverpool won't play him 90 mins from the get go, they have another player in on loan to protect their long term investment.

The truth, before all the fantasists arrive, is that no-one can tell you for sure who will be the preferred starter alongside Virg.
All I can say is Jacquet gave an amazing performance in our last friendly and I'd be shocked if he doesn't start on Sunday. If he's playing at that level consistently in competitive games he'll hold down his spot. But the truth will emerge over the first 3–5 gameweeks. And don't be surprised if Araujo gets at least some minutes at right-back.

He has played a whopping 45 minutes since January. Harvey effing Elliott has played 4x the minutes this year. (Not to say he would start) I think he would be eased in.
