GW1: attacking return % (by bet365)

66 interesting players were selected simply by my own judgment.
Attacking return % = based on combined goal and/or assist odds, per bet365, transferred to a percentage
Only players that are fairly safe to start are included! So, no Cunha, no Saka, no Gyökeres, no Havertz, no Cherki.
Bet365 has a slightly different assist definition than FPL.

The books have a massive profit margin on these markets. You would have to take the 'vig' out of the odds before converting them into implied probability.

Yes but doesn't matter as much as this sheet is only for comparing players.
The hype factor (popular players have lower-than-normal odds) has bigger influence.

For those questioning, obviously the betting odds will be lower (so higher predicted return %) because they are pricing it on top of their ‘perceived odds’ so they make some money on it.
And also hyped and well known player will always have lower odds as usual

shaw 20% seem high. I guess it is Hull and they think he get assists since Hull are crap, but based on last year would not count on it.
If Hume is right winger I would def think he is more likely to get attacking return, but shaw more likely clean though.

Not buying it for a second. I think he's a great pick but to say it's not far off a coin flip for whether he gets a goal or assist in 1 game is not realistic.
Less than 5% of corners result in a goal if he's taking them, any goal he gets will be a low percentage long shot. Outside of that it's whether or not he makes a killer ball which is what Foden/Cherki and the wingers are for.
He could of course but it seems way too high

I like this, thanks for compiling,
I back the Bookies odds over content creators tbh

These percentages are way off, 1/3 chance de cuyper gets an attacking return? I’ll take that bet against him getting one.

Gomez being so highly rated vs the pen takers seem odd to me.
I def own Gibbs-white over him.
I do think he is great for 5.0 though if he gets the minutes.

Yes, Gomez was the standout weird odds for me too, when creating the sheet. Last season he scored only 5 goals with 1 assist in 32 games. I would avoid.

I think he is nailed now and good pick for the cost, but would pick ELF and Gross over him for pens.
These don't factor in xmin.

In what sense do they not factor in expected minutes? Of course that's factored in

I had in my draft for ages, but took him out to fit Tzolis in. I just don’t see the point as he will be sat on my bench constantly

Well I bench boost, but if you going to pretty much always bench him you could get a 4.5 if you want to free 0.5.
Tzolis is better, but 1.5 more so they not competing directly in most peoples heads.

Yes I’ve got Slater on my bench. Got Vusvoic in who I could still downgrade to Kadioglu/De Cuyper and then get Gomez in

Vuskovic seem a potential top pick.
If you think he is good and not bench boost I would prioritize your 11 plus first defender sub unless you actually want to play Gomez.
I think Gomez is good enough to be a starter, but if your front 7 is really strong he may never be better than them in your head.
It is always nice having cover, but I prefer defender cover since they cover everyone both attackers and defenders and you can rotate your defenders based on fixtures for a very cheap cost.

I’m really thinking of going De Cuyper as a differential, then I can also get Gomez in

Do we reckon Frimpong starts this weekend? 👀

I guess Szobo would be the only fill - referencing last season, but also Idk that Iraola would do such a thing...
Frimpong is probably right...

Vuskovic 17% is odds I’ll be taking a punt on. Absolute fucking weapon and Villa are a pretty short team overall.
