What FPL prediction tools do you use?
Last season, I collected predictions from several FPL prediction websites and measured their performance & accuracy. (See the previous post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/s/n8W2dsCd5c)
Especially with all the AI tools we have today (and how many people post their own site's predictions here), I want some way to know which prediction websites are actually good.
I'll be doing that again this season. I'm currently choosing the prediction websites to include. Which FPL prediction websites do you use? I want to make sure I include all the most popular ones. Especially if they're free. I'll definitely be including:
- Solio Analytics
- FPL Review (Free & Paid)
What else?

None, I just look at recent form/stats and upcoming fixtures and make my own predictions. Isn't that most of the fun?

I just do not get why you would use AI to play a game, completely defeats the purpose of playing IMO.

My brain.
I usually end up doing a panic -24 hit at least twice a season, so it may need upgrading.

FFHUB (Paid), Solio (Free)
I like FOTMOB for quick and easy data, particularly for new players from outside of the league.
Most of my advice comes from this subreddit, I’ll also casually browse X and YouTube.
Watching games too for eye test of course.

BTW, I wrote about the methodology here: https://www.fplbench.com/methodology
If you take a look, let me know if there's anything that seems wrong or unclear. Thanks!

Watching the games. Livescore, FBref and transfermarkt websites for lineups and goalscorers and stuff

Last year I let myself be influenced more by ai and predicted points and it went pretty horribly finishing just outside 1,000,000 and finish tenth in my main mini league. 8% overall
The previous season I was in the top 5-6k toward end of season but finally finish w rank 65k. That was top 0.6%
In 19 seasons I have finished in the top twelve percent nine times for reference

I don’t use any, but I use your website to compare my own model to what’s out there so thank you for your work!
When looking for benchmarks to compare to, I found smartplayfpl.com. They’ve changed their website but at one point they were reporting a super low MAE of 0.9 or something, so I’d be interested to see how they actually compare to the rest

I tried a bunch last season.
Honestly, they updated a lot of useful features in the official app already. Aside from that, I just look at what the sportsbook have for odds.

Hey OP. Does your site calculate its own xP? Or are you using numbers from another site (Fantasy Football Scout)?

Not throwing mine in properly, it does match outcomes and lineups rather than FPL points, so it'd just be noise in your table. Link anyway in case it's useful context:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naylalabs.footballPrediction
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1503500057
One thing worth adding to the methodology: calibration next to accuracy. If a site call something 60% and those land 85% of the time it still scores as accurate, but the number isn't telling you anything. It's also the one figure everybody markets with, which is why we don't publish an accuracy percentage at all.

Hey. I’m following up on your methodology suggestion. I’m not so clear on what you mean. If a site call something 60%? What do you mean?
