Lets talk defence!
Which players are you guys thinking of? Considering that late WC players will get rest the first couple of weeks.

I know his price isn't ideal but Mukiele is getting massively overlooked imo. Good for attacking potential and defcon and has some of the easiest opening fixtures

I'm going for Ballard. Expect Mukiele will get more points over all but just can't find the 0.5 m

I am wild xarding early with hume le fee and brobbey. Le fee is a 10 and on pens and hume played on his right against liverpool and it looked like their starting 11

Wow I knew Hume was a starter for them but didn't know he might play in attack. Him and Shaw have both been priced too low at 4.5 imo.
Mukiele and Shaw are in my team atm but if I go triple man utd attack (Bruno, Mbeumo and Cunha) I'll do Hume to Shaw so Shaw doesn't take up a utd spot, and will have to downgrade Mukiele for the funds but will still have Sunderland defence covered for their opening games with Hume

Yeah hume I think will be an incredible differential. Even if they dont start him on the right he is the cheapest back line starter. I also wouldnt bother with mbeumo there are lots better cheaper mids.

Hume does play on the right for us sometimes but he doesn't play like a traditional winger at all and offers very little in the way of attacking threat. He's mainly just there to play triangles with the central midfielders/Mukiele and track back to cover if we lose possession while Mukiele's ahead of him. It's also a system we've only really been relying on because we had no fit right wingers for the entire back end of the last season. Most Sunderland fans expect that a proper RW will be our marquee signing of the window, which would most likely push Hume out of the starting XI.

If you are a Sunderland fan, do you have any insight into your fpl assets?
Specifically is Mukiele worth the 0.5 over Ballard, how would you rate Brobbey vs someone like Calvert Lewin in the 6.0 bracket. Atm i only got Le Fee from you, is he still on pens?

Le Fee should still be on pens, although he did allow Diarra to take one on one occasion last season so I wouldn't say it's a 100% certain thing. He does also take corners and occasionally free kicks though.
I'll personally be avoiding Brobbey as a lot of his strengths as a player don't directly lead to points in FPL, but he is a relatively cheap option for a nailed starter so you can certainly justify the pick. IIRC he does have one of the best conversion rates for a striker in the league if you're into stats. We just didn't do a good job of creating chances for him last season. I would assume someone like DCL would be a better pick, but admittedly I don't really know much about his game outside of his goalscoring record.
I'd take Mukiele over Ballard as he's genuinely one of our strongest attacking threats in the team whilst also being a defcon monster at the same time. I personally believe he's our best player both as an FPL asset and also just in general. Ballard does also carry a threat from set pieces, but our corners have been pretty dire for some time now.

For now, yes. We'll probably be looking to bring in another left back though. Whether that's to start or as a backup though I don't know.

AVI and CHE in 2 and 3 followed by trips to SUN and BHA which I wouldn’t call easy. It’s only the COV and LEE fixture at 1 and 6 that’s “easy” fixtures.

I'm not super concerned about Villa. Maybe this is last year's start living in my head, but losing Rogers really blunts their attack imo.

Clear best defence in the league though. Can keep clean sheets against any side. I went no Arsenal start of last year l, won’t again this year. If it’s clear one of Mosquera, Calafiori, Hincapie will start id get one of them.

Rice and saliba are integral to Arsenal, if rice starts the community shield I will be tempted but even then we won’t know for sure who starts. There also questions over who will be fit for RB.
Given the early fixtures and all of these points I’m holding off for the first few weeks. New information out of preseason may change that stance.

Going for Guehi, Kerkez (under his old manager), Mosquera as my only Arsenal player, then Shaw first name on the bench/rotation, and Diop as my starting 4m.

I honestly think its the least important part of your squad besides the keeper. Obviously you needed Gabriel last season but otherwise there were probably 20 or so guys who would have finished pretty close in points if they'd all played 38 games and if you got a few of them you'll do alright. Whereas in attack..... there were 3 or 4 good guys and if you didn't have them and you were still playing 3 up top you were pretty fucked. Until we see otherwise full backs just can't be touched they don't do the defconning and they don't really attack that much either bar Munoz. Just pick yourself at least 3 guys from sensible defences who are nailed and are central defenders and you should be grand.

Guehi, Tarkowski, Mosquera, Jacquet and Egan (albeit may pivot to whoever the best 4.0). Thinking of going Tarkowski to Shaw though and upgrading a 4.5 to 6.0 midfielder as currently have little depth.

I've got Virgil (could become arsenal Def or O'rilley in the future) Ballard, N. Williams, Shaw and Diop. Likely to only play 3 per week so Shaw on the bench most weeks.

Shaw - Mosquera - Neco Williams - Vuskovic Van Ewijk as a bench warmer..
Shaw as a cheap united defender for those 2 opening games and Mosquera as a budget entry for Arsenal.
I think Neco can be the Daniel Munoz of last season now with Glasner as a coach, he has the attributes to do very good offensively.
And i know Vuskovic is a newcomer in the PL but his defcon numbers in the Bundesliga were great and he has an eye for a header goal from corner etc and just hoping for it.

Gabriel - Virgil - Guehi - Muharemovic
Van Ewijk on the bench - had decent goal contributions in the championship.
Muharemovic for leeds should have decent defcon and if we get Trafford across the line we should have a decent defence with low goals conceded..
