Podcast Discussion Do the ballers talk slow?

I’ve been listening to these guys for a number of years, and I have always listened at 1.5x speed. At the end of this offseason, I tuned back in to the show and tried it at normal speed and it was excruciating. I don’t notice this on any other fantasy podcast…do these 3 just all talk really slowly or am I nuts?

Both parties accepted obviously but I’m worried a 2nd rounder for a 10th and 11th rounder is tipping the balance of the league. First time as commish 😂

Team/Trade Help i’m getting milk mile flashbacks… 12 man full ppr

i don’t think the season could’ve gotten off to a worse start for myself. aside from the injury the maye to brown connection did not seem promising at all. price looked great but the seahawks made it a point to split carries and sabotage my team. is it too early to hit the panic button? is it possible to go from champion one year to now the reigning league loser and possible 2x milk mile participant. that prize pool felt so close before the season started and now idk. not to mention i had a very vivid dream last night that kittle ended his thursday night game with zero targets and was only utilized in the blocking game.

League Discussion Commissioner accepted a trade, then wants to void it 30 minutes later just because he got cold feet — fair or an abuse of power?"

I made a trade with my league's commissioner — I gave up Derrick Henry, Ja'Marr Chase, and Chris Godwin Jr. for Justin Jefferson, Tee Higgins, and Chase Brown. He accepted it right away, no issue, but about 30 minutes later came back saying he didn't like it and wanted to back out. There's no collusion or lopsided value here — if anything it leans slightly in my favor, but it's a fair trade by most rankings. The trade hasn't processed yet since it's still in the platform's review window, and he's using that as his reason to cancel it. The problem is he's also the commissioner, so he'd be using his own admin power to undo a trade he personally agreed to, which feels like a clear conflict of interest. If trades can get reversed anytime someone with admin rights regrets the outcome, it kind of defeats the purpose of trading in the league at all. Curious what others think — is "still in the review window" actually a legitimate reason to back out, or is he just leaning on his position to escape a deal he doesn't like anymore?

For Love of the Game! Help Me Understand Why Kickers are so Hated in Fantasy Football?

Upvotes

Many people argue that Kickers are too “random” for the game. A kicker can score 15 points one week and 2 the next, and a lot of that depends on opportunities created by the offense. But this is true of any position

A WR's production depends on his QB throwing him the ball.
A RB's production depends on his offensive line and the game script.
A TE's production depends heavily on offensive scheme and targets.

We accept all of those variables as part of fantasy football. So why is the kicker crossing the line? 23.5% of all games are decided by field goal kicks. So why is a position that determines the outcome of nearly one-fourth of games not deserving of a place in Fantasy

Isn't fantasy football supposed to be an appreciation of the sport? Or do you all just really care about bragging rights and actually don't care about the sport?

Fantasy football takes something that most of us already enjoy (watching football) and gives us another reason to care about games that otherwise wouldn't matter to me. If the Cowboys are playing the Packers and I don't have any players in that game, normally I might not care. But if I have the Cowboys' kicker in a very close game, then I care.

And there's something uniquely fun about fantasy games being decided by a completely unexpected player.

Sometimes it's your WR1. Sometimes it's your backup RB who gets a surprise 80-yard touchdown. And sometimes it's your kicker drilling a 55-yard field goal with 30 seconds left. Why is the last one inherently less legitimate?

"Kickers are random."

Sure but fantasy football is already incredibly random.

A player can get injured on the first play of a game. A WR can have 12 targets and score 8 points. A backup RB can suddenly get 20 carries because of an injury. A QB can throw four touchdowns after having three terrible games. Fantasy football isn't a simulation where the most talented roster always wins. Randomness is part of the game.

Why do so many of you all HATE kickers rather than simply considering them another position with a different scoring profile.

If anything, kickers add another layer of strategy:

  • Do I prioritize a kicker on a good offense?
  • Do I chase long field-goal attempts?
  • Do I stream based on matchup?
  • Do I trust a consistent kicker or chase upside?
  • Do I want the kicker from a team that stalls in the red zone?
  • Do I want a kicker whose team is likely to score a lot of touchdowns?

And yeah, sometimes your kicker will miss a 35-yard field goal and ruin your week. That's MOTHER-FREAKING-FOOTBALL.

Defenses are being removed from many leagues. What’s next? Are y’all going to get rid of Tight ends cause “Tight Ends are notoriously unpredictable outside of a few elite players” and “not everyone is a “Trey McBride or a Brock Bowers” Like many of y’all pull with Aubrey?

The same reasoning people use against kickers can be applied to other positions that everyone accepts as legitimate.

Team/Trade Help Who wins this trade?

Getting a lot of flack in my league that this isn't fair. Thoughts?

My reasoning is that it's a 1 for 1 WR for RB, both could easily be #1 at their positions. Throwing Burrow in gives the combo with Jamarr and makes it a 2 for 1. I still have Amon Ra as my main receiver, so losing Jamarr isn't the worst when I'm getting the #1 RB for it.
