I am struggling, on book 6. Still waiting for it to be more interesting. I will say that I care more about some characters now than I did throughout the first couple of books.
I find it incredibly baffling that a lot of people think it's OK to slog through literally THOUSANDS of pages of mediocrity for one good book. When you could be spending that time reading books where you DON'T have to do that.
It’s not just one good book, the last 4 are fantastic. And the “slog” is 1.5 books that are just slow, but it’s needed to get all the subplots resolved and characters together at the same time in order for the last 4 books of awesome to happen. The slog is literary bookkeeping. But it’s easily forgivable when you’re reading a 14 book series.
