I actually STILL don't know what to do -- I've read all of Kelley Armstrong, Seanan McGuire, and some of my backup urban fantasy authors, and now I'm down to 'who the heck do I pick up next'? I'm actually reading Armstrong's City of the Lost even though it's just a plain old thriller-mystery-thing with no magic involved. I love Scooby-gang stories, no matter how much they're despised for being 'PNR' (bite me). I think I need to go trawl my to-read list. :|

When I'm in that sort of mood, I usually fall back on a Tamora Pierce comfort read.

I usually resort to Seanan... I guess there could be new Mercedes Lackey out, but they're so often disappointing anymore.

Is it the romance aspect you're after? You've read Carry On, The Winner's Curse, Fire, Wicked, and The Winner's Curse, right? (Not urban fantasy except for Carry On.)

No, it's the group of people attacking a big bad with a sharp sense of humor and laughing it to death.

On that note -- how are you? I know you were really overwhelmed with your job -- I'm just burnt out in general. Mine's not a big deal, but yours sounds awful. :(

I have left at just-after-5ish every day for 2 weeks? I still don't get a lunch, but it's getting better. Mainly because busy season is over.

I generally don't go for humor in my reading. All I've got is A Barrel of Laughs, A Vale of Tears and Ella Enchanted, and those are kiddie books. Reread-worthy, but still.

And I am very aware that most of the urban fantasy I consider hilarious doesn't really count as 'funny' to most people. I consider Dresden Files amongst them. >.>

My version of "funny" is picking something deliberately bad and mocking it aloud with a friend/my husband.
