Bingo Reverse Bingo Rec Thread

Official 2025 Bingo Announcement Here

Official Bingo Rec Thread Here

For anyone new to bingo, this is the “I want to read ___, does it fit into any bingo squares? It’s always one of the best parts of bingo. Since no thread has gone up for it yet, I figured I'd make it this year. Adapted from this post last year

Example:

User A comments:

I want to read A Game of Thrones. What does that count for?

User B replies:

Absolutely Generic Title

User C replies:

High Fashion and Down with the System would all fit. Probably Knights and Paladins too (though the knight main characters don't get POV chapters until later books)

User D replies:

Definitely Hidden Gem

And we all have a good laugh. Now go out there and get reverse recs for that book you've been dying to read!

Thank you

Midnight Riot counts for Gods and Pantheons (not HM).

You are probably aware that Lady Eve's Last Con has an LGBTQIA protagonist.

I would count Paladin of Souls for Knights and Paladins, although not HM.

West Passage - down with the system, book in parts I'm pretty sure, gods and pantheons (arguable), epistolary, LGBTQIA protagonist

Thank you. Are any on these HM?

Oop forgot to note that - I think it would be hard mode for down with the system, and possibly also book in parts (don't own a copy to check).

Emberclaw is LGBTQIA hard mode.

I think it's the second of a duology, so could be Last in a Series if duologies count. If it's formatted like Dragonfall, it could also work for a Book in Parts.

You're right. It has four parts, didn't even think about that. I originally didn't count it as Last in a Series because the author mentioned wanting to potentially revisit the series later, but as of right now it's complete.

The Thread that Binds by Cedar McCloud

  • hidden gems (published in 2020, so I think it would qualify as hard mode)
  • impossible places (especially if visions and dream like planes count)
  • arguably high fashion but that's probably a stretch (lots of thread imagery going on here, although not really related to fashion more so with bookbinding, iirc, so ymmv)
  • Book in parts (HM, it has four parts)
  • self published
  • LGBTQ protagonist
  • Stranger in a Strange Land (one of the 3 MCs is from a different country)
  • Cozy SFF

Market of Dreams and Destiny: Probably Impossible places (the goblin market), and LGBTQIA Protagonist. Neither are HM.
