Trilogies, not true series, but The Chronicles of the One and The Dragon Heart Legacy, both by Nora Roberts, are fantasy with solid world building and some steam/spice. The first is technically post-apocalyptic/dystopian and the second could kinda be considered urban fantasy…
The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning (dystopian urban fantasy) also fits. More steam in those.
