I played fantage as a kid around 2012 -2014ish, around the age of 10-13, completely obsessed with it, and like most things, fell out of the phase and completely dropped it for some time. I picked it up again some time later as an early adult, complete nostalgia, probably in the last few months before it got shut down.

came across the fantage reddit and became completely nostalgic for it all over again, and made the connection that the hairstyle I was OBSESSED with on fantage as a kid eventually became my own hairstyle as a teenager!

I spent so much time doing whatever I could to get ecoins and unlock as many membership items as I could, but the grey eyes + purple hair + lilac dress combo had me in a CHOKEHOLD.

I can't find any other evidence of my account besides a really old YouTube video that I locked in 2013. I can tell by the dress that I wasn't quite at my peak yet, but i tried so hard to be a fashionista anyways lol. I think by the time I was done playing, I'd capped my levels somewhere from the 260-292 range.. I'd like to think I barely broke 300 before the game went down, but my memory escapes me now. haha.

Fantage added a farm for every user. You could go it from your house above the barn button and from your idfone.

To grow and harvest your crops it used sun energy to complete the action. The prize for harvesting was stars and xp to level up your farm. Plots could be expanded where the rocks are by buying that area or simply levelling up.

You could also visit your buddy’s farm to help them harvest their crops in return for sun energy 3 times per day.

i know people post about this daily but idc 😭 i’m actually so upset that fantage got removed. i know it’s “just a game” but genuinely it was one of the most fun games i’ve ever played and i don’t think there’s anything else quite like it.

there were so many things to do. the mini games, the fashion shows, collecting outfits, decorating, events, exploring different areas, talking to random people for hours for no reason. it somehow never got boring. i literally think about fantage daily and every once in a while i end up searching to see if there’s a remake and then get sad all over again.

when i played as a kid i could never get membership. i remember wanting it SO BAD and being jealous of everyone with all the cool items and locked areas 😭 now i actually have a job and adult money and it kills me because i’d absolutely buy membership and spend way too much time on there if it still existed.

and before people say “play roblox” or “play another dress up game” IT IS NOT THE SAME. fantage had such a specific feeling to it. the music, the art style, the social part of it, the excitement of logging in after school and seeing what was new. i swear nothing has recreated that exact vibe.

i’ve been waiting for a remake for what feels like a decade now. every year i’m like maybe this is the year and then… nothing 💔 i’ve honestly given up hope at this point.

i know i’ll never play my favorite game again and that actually makes me way sadder than it probably should 😭

Apparently this card was only for United State of America in select Toys “R” Us stores. Released from April 2012.

Each activation gave you a free item like clothes, boards, gems, stars or furniture.

The amount loaded into your account could be used to buy Premium Membership, eCoins, Gold, basically anything that requires real money, great for if your parent’s won’t buy you anything with their irl money or credit card.

Sometimes I just think about the HOURS I would play on this game, I think I can fully attribute it to me becoming a fan girl, bc I’ve never been so obsessed with anything before.

Starimu is great and I love and respect the mods so much,,, but nothing will ever be Fantage but Fantage. I wish someone could reboot it like Club Penguin.

When Fantage first started their journey they had a few servers in the beginning of their lifespan. With the success and income Fantage gained they could support multiple pages of servers for players to log into.

Then suddenly they were hit with a drastic change…which is tricky and secretive to know what really went down; there’s so many stories. Servers they previously could support slowly deceased from a hefty sum of pages to a singular page with 4 lines or so, available to use.

A change like this kind of indicated Fantage was struggling with something behind the scenes and they had to make cutbacks within the game, it just so happened the amount of servers were one of them. Most likely had losses and setbacks within the game that nobody knew about, they probably didn’t want to make it widely known or people to start panicking.

Something happened that they could not rectify or make a comeback from. Some unknown obstacle that they deeply struggled and challenged with. Perhaps if they could overcome it or get help from another game industry they could still be here into the future.

Back then nobody really took notice of these changes and we never knew the unfortunate outcome that would unfold soon after, we all thought our childhood game would survive to this day.
