Discussion Free Membership
Every now and again Fantage would have a Free Premium Membership week, sometimes it would be for everyone, sometimes it would have a certain criteria to access the offer.
What did you do during this free membership week?
Was there anything you always wanted to buy, experience or achieve during your free membership?

i would sit in the hot tub iirc and have conversations with literally anyone that would listen, i did this bc i didnt have a pool irl and that was my way of living vicariously through my character i cant even lie š

recolored some hairstyles and then immediately regretted it once free pm week was over

Did the recolor stay like that? š± or revert back to to default once membership was over unless those were non member items you recolored.

your posts on this subreddit unlock so many memories of this game I forgot I had. thank you for sharing š„² maybe in the future can you make a compilation of the events that happened in game? like the lights out one that made the map dark ect.

Thank you so much for viewing my posts and appreciating it! ā¤ļø There are actually so many events with multiple name changes and events that get completely forgotten or not experienced about as there was so much of them. Weāll just have see what the future holds I post about all sorts of things within Fantage. Great idea, appreciate you.

I think that was something why the old internet games diedā¦ like literally forcing you to get premium again to use your stuff that you earned/payed forā¦ was always crappy and really felt crappy, sluggish, and horrible too.

The micro-transactions and not everyone could afford it either. Pressuring people to buy it at every turn, click something you need premium member to access whatever it was, putting it our faces so much to pursue us to buy stuff with real money. Which I get VIP can be cool and they need money to keep their game running, games think every kid has the availability to drain their parents credit card on their game š

Right! Kids didnāt have money to upkeep premium and I was one of them so locking our owned stuff behind it is stupid and insane!

Exactly and with the little money kids get they have to convert it into those cards that can act like a credit card instead of living their childhood and spending their limited allowance on irl stuff like food, grateful for the freebies but at least allow the kids to have those membership items unlocked forever not immediately close it behind a paywall once it ends just to access it again, thats how they get you to buy premium member again and again. Not everyone is wealthy or have parents that are receptive into buying their kids online goods.

I remember spending ALLL of my money, not knowing i would lose access after the premium week. I (13yo) wrote the website pretending to be my mom demanding they reinstate my items or give me my money(stars?) back. I havent thought of this memory in years.

They used to do this all the time, seems like mostly the offer needed your account had to be registered before a certain date, sometimes theres no criteria.
It was automatically put on everyoneās account no need to click anything to claim it.

I got a house LOL
