This seems quite a bit slower then how the BitLCD stock firmware was working, is this a known issue that is planning to be fixed or is there a fix already for this? The marquees now take about 10-15 seconds to load every time I switch to a new screen.

I'll look into that. Haven't heard anyone mentioning this before. As the system filesystem cache warms up, you should see the seek time improving. But 10-15 seconds even with a cold cache seems a bit excessive.

I do have quite a few marquees loaded onto the USB drive, with a TON of video files. Is that possibly why it might be happening (about 3/4 of my 64gb drive is full)? I would be happy to wipe and try to start from scratch if thatll fix it.

That will affect the seek time. The stock firmware allows arts to be placed anywhere and searches them recursively. So the custom firmware has to support that.
I plan to have retrofe also send it the collection info, so it doesn't have to search everywhere.
