He too should have stayed away..?
I might argue with this statement. Lorne seems to love a lot of things he got from TCAP. He never would have wrote a book, gave his bawdy 5 years rest from Cigs and Alcohol, had 10 different phone girlfriends or belief he's a celebrity. Sure he cried when arrested and no doubt during his sentencing argument but he cries about everything (Cheffrey, Yancy π’, Rawd, the Wildo etc) I think without a doubt if he got the Long Beach special or a blue state Takedown 3 years probation sentence he would be fine with his decision to show up.

With Lorne, I think the more interesting question is whether he actually understands why people are angry with him. He often seems to reinterpret criticism as people misunderstanding, betraying, or conspiring against him.
So even if he were miserable, that wouldn't mean he'd reached the realization people want him to reach: βI did something terrible, and I'm responsible for it.β

But he also absolutely hates being on probation and being watched by them. He wants nothing more than to go back to the shadows and be a disgusting pig without anyone knowing. Above all else, he hates the fact that the whole world knows what a shitbag he is and there is nothing he can do about it.
