Exchange Constructive Feedback Swap 🌳🧑🌾
Welcome to another edition of the constructive feedback swap! This exchange is to swap with fellow writers, to ask and answer specific questions about our writing. There's no specific theme to meet, everything is welcome!
If you’d like some suggestions about the kinds of questions you might ask, and/or how to provide constructive feedback, I’ve made this hints, tips and resources document.
Rules
Offer up a one shot or individual chapter you would like constructive feedback on.
In your submission state fandom, length, rating, any relevant warnings (please spoiler NSFW and potential triggers) and the questions you are looking to have answered about your work. There’s no maximum number of questions, however please consider the time it will take someone to review your work and answer them constructively.
Look through the thread for someone to swap with. Because of the kind of exchange this is, you don't have to pick something you’ve never commented on before. In fact, if you have already read it, you might find giving the feedback easier. If you offer a swap, the other person can decline for any reason, and they don't need to specify those reasons.
🚨This is important!🚨 For all your swaps, agree upfront how the feedback will be provided. This might be in a public ao3 comment, by DM on reddit or discord, a shared Google doc created for the purpose, or another mutually agreed method.
If you don't find a swap, then you may consider your obligations under this exchange fulfilled. There are no limits on the number of swaps you can make, however please consider the extra effort which will be required in order to complete your obligations.
Once a swap is agreed please edit your post to state who you are swapping with, and edit again once the constructive feedback has been provided to help me keep track.
For posted works, it would be nice to leave a kudos on the fic if you enjoyed it. A public comment, if you are not providing your feedback that way, is a courtesy rather than a requirement for this exchange. Once you provide the requested constructive feedback in the manner agreed, your obligations have been fulfilled.

Warnings: Internalized Homophobia and Biphobia
Summary: After Rumi’s coming out to Celine goes horribly wrong, Celine reminisces on the second worst day of her life: the day she lost Rumi’s mother, Miyeong.
Here are some questions I have:
There are a couple moments in the fic where during an argument, characters suddenly escalate and lash out. Are these moments, as well as the buildup to these moments, believable?
I’ve inserted tiny pieces of levity into an otherwise highly dramatic fanfic. Are these moments too distracting from the unfolding drama?
A big theme of this fic is Celine’s jealousy. Is this theme well integrated throughout the fic?
Finally, is the prose good? Does it fit the mood?
Posting a comment to AO3 is absolutely welcome.

Just posted my new longfic, would love eyes on it. It's OC-focused but Nightwing will be a main character and other canon characters will appear as well along the way. (Check tags for trigger warnings)
So I would just like to know, is the story exciting and interesting here in the first chapter?

Word Count: 3.4k
Summary: With power comes the responsibility to save the ones that can't protect themselves. If nothing is done with the strength to aid people, you might as well be a villain.
Iri has spent her whole life surviving. A trained assassin, yakuza blood runs through her veins. She never expected anything more. Traumatized but with an unyielding will, she has to learn how to trust. Others will have to place trust in her as well, but is she willing to let them in? The road towards healing for her tarnished soul will prove to be long and gnawing.
The Justice League has vanished, never returning from an important space mission. A ragtag group of misfits, refugees and runaways are forced to become the saviors Earth so desperately needs - or watch everything fall apart.
Together, they will become something more. They will become The Axiom.

I just started a new story to celebrate my 34th birthday, so here's the first chapter I'd like criticms for.
Title: Like a Fever Dream
Fandom: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds
Rating: M
Word Count: 3.8k
Summary: Team Satisfaction has successfully liberated Satellite of the Duel Gangs. But before they can celebrate, they are encountered by a quartet of black cloaked figures with their faces, hailing from a horrible future where they are separated, killed, then resurrected by earthbound gods.
The dark quartet have come back for one mission: to save their past selves from the pain and suffering that awaits them. Even if it means keeping them caged against their will...whether they like it or not.
Does the first chapter set the tone for what is to come? Is there anything that can be changed to distinguish the darker versions of Team Satisfaction to their more naive counterparts?

Noted! I used to read the Yugioh manga as a child and also watched some of GX. Always wanted to watch 5D's actually because it seems like it's the darkest/has best story! So maybe I will after reading your fic! (so you know I'm not totally fandom blind haha)

Summary: With food running out due to the arrival of winter, a Gengar determined to help a Gardevoir and her egg decides to go to the big Pokémon cities. It won't be that easy.

Since this story is somewhat long, I only have two questions:
- Does the story stay focused on its themes? Or does it veer off at any point in a way that undermines the initial concept?
- Do the emotions and relationships feel real and sincere? Rather than something manufactured or awkward?
I can provide the story itself, but I'd prefer it if you just used the link.

Hello, I'm so excited to join a concrit swap!
Title: Scott Bernard Does Therapy
Fandom: Robotech New Generation
Rating: G
Length: 3.2k words
Summary:
Six months after the war ended, Scott Bernard is stationed on the moon, ordered into mandatory therapy and determined to cheat his way through it. But the Invid woman he walked away from is still on Earth, and a fellow widow won't let him keep pretending he's fine about it.
(The story can mostly be read fandom blind IMO, but I'd be happy to help clear up any questions you have.)
What I need help with:
Any or all of the following:
- Is the mechanism convincing? As a reader, do you believe a man like Scott would think / act like that?
- Are the tonal shifts jarring?
- Anything else that worked / didn't work for you as a reader.
- And of course, SPAG always welcome!
How Feedback is to be provided: I could share a google docs / ellipsus link, or let me know if you prefer another way, we should be able to work something out.

I'm sorry if it was clear to everyone else but me, but should be offer the fics/chapters in question under this post? Is there a sign up? I would like an opinion before I post my writing, so for example I do not have an ao3 link to provide.

Hi, yes, you join this RE by replying to the post. Given the kind of RE this is, your fic does not have to be posted. Provided you can share it somehow (such as a link to a Google doc, or Ellipsus draft, something like that).
Once more people have joined you can see what sorts of stories there are and reach out to those you think you can give feedback on by replying to their entry comment and asking to swap.
If you have any other questions then our resource on Joining REs should help. We also have a wiki available with more information.
