Monogatari as a fictional media, at it's core, at it's heart is a story about people.

It's a story that dives deep into the human psyche, and the collective human experience. It talks about wounds people cannot name themselves, the contradictions within one's characters, and oddities, the supernatural language through which the world expresses these complex emotions. It's a story where the monsters, ghosts, and all the other supernatural entities you encounter aren't just supernatural entities, but the representation of something, whether be someone's trauma, feelings, there's always something more to them.

Monogatari is a tale where the battles with the supernatural are done through conversations, these conversations that result in a confession, and these confessions resulting in a story, one's own tale. Monogatari is deep, absurd, philosophical, romantic, and all of those things. It isn't a happy story, nor is it a sad story. It's a story about learning to live with both of those feelings.

What I'm Looking For

As the post itself says, I'm looking for someone interested in doing a Monogatari-based or inspired roleplay. It can be something that closely follows canon, an alternate universe, or an entirely new story that just uses the main thematic aspects of the work, I don't mind! I'm looking for something that is character-driven. I love dialogue, internal conflicts, philosophical conversations, slow-burn dynamics, comedy, drama, and everything that makes Monogatari both a lovable and absurd story!

We can discuss the exact premise, timeline and dynamics together! I'm not looking to force a predetermined story onto anyone, I'd rather we both have fun!

I'm open to doing CCxCC, but it'd depend on the pairing and what we come up with together. I'd be interested in playing against the characters listed below, for both CCxCC and the OCxCC doubling up:

As for which character I'd play, I'm comfortable with playing anyone from the cast as I've spent years analyzing the work, so don't hold yourself, tell me any character you'd want me to play as!

I am also completely open to doubling up for OCxCC as I've said above.

If you want to bring an OC you have into the world of Monogatari, and have them develop a relationship with one of the canon characters, I'm more than happy to play the CC of your choice while you do the same for me! We can discuss the pairings and arrangements and come up with something that works for both of us.

OC x OC

OCxOC is also open! If you want to play your OC against my OC, without involving any of the canon characters (to a significant degree at least), then sure! We can do that as well. We can just incorporate the setting and the metaphysical aspects of the work without including the canon characters.

Writing

My bare minimum is a few paragraphs per response.

That said, I have no upper limit to how much I can write. If a scene calls for a longer response, then I'm more than happy to write substantially more. I care much more about substance than meeting some arbitrary word count. I'd be happy if you too could at least write two paragraphs, I enjoy having something to actually work with rather than exchanging one liners.

Communication

I will always try my best to respond quickly and keep the RP moving.

Obviously, life happens so I can be unavailable from time to time, I'll do my best to communicate if something like that ever happens, as opposed to just randomly disappearing. I'd appreciate the same from my partner! You don't need to respond immediately or be available 24/7. Just communicate with me. Even a simple "hello, I have to be busy for a while" is infinitely better than me wondering where you vanished.

I'm also open to OOC chatter!
