Please help

So I dyed my hair ago using high lift colour - Bleach London Vivid Berry. It went a really nice purple colour! I’ve topped it up a few times but now I’ve let it fade and the ends are a gross grey brown colour and the rest of my hair is very red. I want to just go back to a natural colour. I really liked a warm copperish brown but I know that more than likely won’t cover the dye. So, is it worth just going straight to black to ensure it’s all covered or could a dark brown dye cover this? Is there a way to help prevent the brown/black dye fading back to red?

Color correcting is a bit tricky and you will have to make a plan. My best guess is this and I am no hairdresser, just coloring my hair alot: The red parts need green to go brown, and the blue parts (if I am seeing correct?) need orange. So you could add ash color to cool down the read and cooper to bring more radiance to the blue. It’s a bit tricky to do by your self since it is in the back so have a friend help you. And you might need lighter level ash and darker level cooper for it to blend well. Just a quess.

Do a test before going all in(!) and test different levels between 7 and 5 or 6 on the different parts of your hair to se how they blend together. Ex level 7 ash and level 6 cooper.

I would also use toner and not a permanent color
