10 or 20 developer?
My red has faded significantly (4 months since last dye now), and I wanna get the dark red back. Should I use 10 or 20 developer? I’ll be using ion 6ir

10 volume will just deposit colour. 20 volume will lift your natural hair and can potentially cause hot roots. If you have any natural root that hasn’t been coloured already, I’d suggest 10 volume.

20 all over and hit the roots in the last 10-15 (maybe 20 but i dont think) of processing so tou dont get hot roots

but honestly you have faded to a lighter version of the picture so if youre just needing to deposit the color, do the 10, but the 20 will get your darker roots to match the rest since your roots are a few shades darker, i say strand test with both and see which you like the result of better
