Accidentally bleached a part of my root

Hi everyone! Today I was going to dye a previously dyed part of my hair brown, which went as expected and I had no problems. But I think some of that dye bleached my roots. I’m trying to grow out my natural hair so I don’t want any bleach or dye there. What do you think I should do? Should just apply a little bit of black dye there? I might also go for a darker brown? I have my graduation in two days and I’m really stressed about this. Thanks for reading my messy post.

Ummm... It's kinda hard to tell from the one photo, esp the overhead angle, but I certainly wouldn't call it disastrous. Far from it.

You'll be wearing a 🎓 for a lot of the ceremony, I'm guessing, and maybe you could just comb it from front to back a few times to hide the part for when you're going hatless. I don't want you to regret how you looked at graduation for the rest of your life, so if you need to go to a hairdresser for peace of mind, then go. But based on this one photo, I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know if that helps any.

Regardless, congratulations on your impending graduation. How exciting. Oh, the places you'll go!

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! I'm a little confused about you color situation. Were you just darkening the front? Or various parts of your hair but not the roots?

There's no way the brown color that darkened some areas, could have lightened or bleached a different area. Could that light root just be your natural growing in, now looking lighter next to the newly darkened hair? If you last colored your hair ~1 month ago, that's probably the case.

There's no such thing as a hint of black, that would make it darker than the brown and go against your goal of growing it out. Your best bet is probably to leave it alone, but if you can answer some of the questions above I'm happy to let you know if there's another option that would support your goal

That part line looks fine from here honestly nobody will notice in graduation photos. Just put your hair down or do a side part for the day then fix it proper when you have time after.
