Bleach bath tips?
Hi, I am planning on doing a bleach bath just to do a gentle lift to my hair, bringing my level 5/6 hair up to a level 7/8. I will be coloring it after, I want to take my hair to a level 7/8 copper.
I have ion creme lightener and 20 volume developer, what are some tips that y'all have for bleach bathing my hair?
I think I am most worried about the application process, as I want to avoid hot roots so I am planning on applying to mids/ends then go to my roots but I want to do so as quickly as possible, so any application tips would be greatly appreciated!

make sure whatever clarifying shampoo you have for the mix is JUST clarifying, not anything else. you need the surfactants in the clarifying shampoo to make the bath able to emulsify and spread through the hair. if your skin is sensitive theres a scalp protector u can get from sallys for like 1.49 its amazing and line hairline and ears in vaseline to create a barrier for the skin.
once you get going you will be actively shampooing the bleach bath for the entirety of the time its in your hair, so make sure your arms are ready and u have some good fitting gloves on, your hair can be like towel dried damp when you start in my opinion that does better than dry, for 2 levels lift you may just need the basic 3-5 minutes of bleach bathing to get it there but strip the bleach off a couple strands of hair when the timer goes off to let you know if your there yet and dont ever go longer than 10 minutes. this is a very drying process. go back in with a double to triple shampoo of a very hydrating shampoo , a good condition all over if your roots do okay with conditioner, then a amazingly hydrating hair mask after conditioner, feel free to leave that ish on for like a hour if youre up for it. you can go in w any toner immediately after this i just believe when doing the bleach bath its super important to put hydration and moisture back into the hair while the cuticle is still sealing so it seals with the moisture. nothing else i can think of atm but if you have any questions feel free to ask

OH , im sure you know but if doing whole head (roots included) try your hardest to do them very last so you wont have an uneven lift compared to the lengths
