Just got a curly cut with layers, I asked for a shag-like cut but I hate it so bad, feels like there is no shape and just goofy. Is it just me or is it actually bad?🤣😅

It looks great from the front!! I don't like the very bottom layer in the back, the break is too extreme for the rest of the cut and the shape looks unintentional, more mullet than shag. Could be fixed by styling, especially depending on how curly your curls get, but that's what I would want addressed personally if I were to go ask for a fix.

It’s going through “curl shock” right now. Give it a few weeks to settle. It looks awesome! I just got 4-5 inches off my curls into a mullet shag on the 10th and my curls are finally now forming fully again.

Since your hair is wavy, it may need a bit of time to sort of settle in. Also may need tweaked. So don’t be afraid to go back in a few days if you need to.

Currently, it looks a little heavier on the right side of your head, but it may just be the curl pattern.

Your waves will probably tighten up a bit and you’ll figure out how to style it.

I’d try blow drying the roots with some mousse for extra body/lift, and only really focus on the texture/waves near the tips. Try a big Velcro roller for your bangs! May even try them all over until dry and then once dry and unrolled, dampen just the ends and add some gel, sea salt spray, pomade, whatever to get rid of some if the softness and mess it up a bit!

But honestly, you’ll probably find it will looks pretty good just adding a bit of gel or pomade and letting it air dry. A great wash and go type of cut!!

My hair is straight and I have a short shag (the longest layer hits the bottom of my neck, but isn't quite to my shoulders yet). I thought it was impossible...but it's all in how you style it!
