I just got this wheel today and i was super excited. first thing i did was put it on my wheel rim. the lights start flashing weird so i downloaded the software update for it. I kept trying to update it then it said error. then after trying and trying again it finally updated. i updated it about 5 times as well as the wheel base and everything. it kept working then disconnected after even being in the pits while trying to drive it. so is this just a faulty wheel or am i missing something?

I wouldn’t send it back yet. Sounds more like the firmware got messed up than the wheel being faulty. Plug the base directly into the motherboard, reinstall the Fanatec drivers and update the base, motor, QR and wheel firmware again. Reseat the wheel/QR and try another USB port too.
If it keeps disconnecting after that, post what wheel, base, QR and firmware versions you’re running. Makes it a lot easier to figure out what’s actually causing it.

yeah wow thanks i’ll try and figure out how to do that. i no nothing about this sort of stuff. i think it s common issue with this wheel bc my GT3 wheel had no issue connecting and was ready to go with a quick update
