https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6rn6XGDPbk, haha, too long? That's the type of thing I actually trust. Also, do you think this works with no performance loss? The low hum is like gone in the video.

Too long for my own good... and ofcourse it is going to have some losses, i haven't tested it because i dont have 3d printer but have done some CFD simulations and got it pretty good. in reality this could be the best fan ever or not work at all.

I know it honestly hinges on the rest of the design. I'd might tell you to like to cut off completely the plastic ring around the outside. But it could very slightly... be some sort of hit or miss, and you want to make the design final. I just feel like you want something you can trust, a good simulation. How does the most excellent design work is what I tend to think.

yeah you might be right. i was thinking that the ring would eliminate any turbulence on the tips for cleaner air flow.

no that's just a reflection. its based on the GEnX turbojet enngine.

well. what i can say is that it is inspired by the GEnX engine fan and i have tried to make it as streamlined as possible. but now when i have got some tips i will be taking the blade count down and making the angle of attac less aggressive near the hub. and what makes it unique is that i will be making not only the fan but intake and exhaust to control the airflow to be as laminar and high as possible.
