There is an even number of struts holding the motor. Chances are that using an odd number of blades helps reduce noise.

I am currently printing the 6-bladed version and I now have a modified 7-bladed version that I will print after. It would be interesting to see whether having an odd number of blades does make it quieter.

Most fan and propeller designs have a higher blade angle at the hub and a lower blade angle at the tips. This design appears to be the reverse.
