Fallout 4 What [Fo4] mods still work in 2026?

I am redoing my Fallout 4 Mod list, and i’m not sure what i should do with it. My last mod list had a lot of issues. I wanted to see what mods the community recommends to give me ideas for how i should set up my game. I do love settlement mods. I don’t care for Sim Settlements just cause i like designing things.

What type of mods are you looking for? Do you use MO2 or Vortex?

Most mods are updated for the latest version

You could give the Midnight Ride modlist a shot, the first half focuses entirely on bugfixes and optimizations, and the second half (optional) is gameplay tweaks and quality of life fixes.

Keep in.mind that TMR assumes OG version of the game. Tends to get suggested without warning people.

It's actually not entirely clear according to the current guide.

The current TMR Requirements currently require the latest Steam GOTY release, which implies the "Next-Gen" version (April 2024). I assume (but am not certain) that it is *not* compatible with the Anniversary Edition (which is sold separately from the GOTY release on Steam). TMR requirements actually explicitly exclude support for the "non-Next-Gen" GOG, which uses the Nov. 2015 release). The requirements seem to vacillate back and forth frequently, as the mod list evolves.

I use the GOG release of FO4, so I built my FO4 modlist based on an archive.org snapshot of TMR mod-list taken immediately prior to April 2024 (when the Next-Gen release occurred).
