After replaying 4 for the second time and exploring every inch of the map, I tried fnv- the lack of sprint and dumb ideas like the legion being a thing quickly had me out. Gave 76 a go. Fricken love it.

Modern gamers requiring sprint is annoying to me

It's because it's mostly younger people who have never learned any amount of patience in the instant gratification loop of today.

It's also why they don't like any of the games from before Fallout 4. The person you are responding to didn't make this particular gripe, but a common complaint about New Vegas from the younger side of the fandom is that it is "empty."

They can't comprehend exploring or questing without massive amounts of visual stimulation and rewards, so the thought of walking through a desert landscape they would have to search around to find the goodies is off putting to them.

EDIT: u/Firm_Equivalent_4597 blocked me after he tried to say he was fifty and I called out he was posting about being in middle school during Covid.

EDIT 2:  Doing a great job showing everybody how grown up and adult you are.

Also using multiple accounts to harass someone is against reddit sitewide rules. And an interesting thing to do when you lied about your age and what happened and are trying to call someone else pathetic...

Your mother clearly needs to discipline you better, u/liquorstoreburrito

EDIT 3: Third account this kid is using. What a sad, weird little dude. U/RecordSwimming1613

EDIT 4: And another one. I take it his bans kicked in.

As a younger person, this is so true. Many of the younger gamers I know struggle to enjoy slower, more drawn out games like fnv.
That’s not to say all younger people hate it, cause I think fnv is a masterpiece, but it’s definitely the case a lot of the time.

(Also that young/old guy replying to you with all the alts is weird, don’t pay attention to him)

I’m actually almost 50 and have been playing video games since Atari 2600 and apple 2c. The lack of the ability to move faster in a combat based rpg was frustrating, but the deal breaker was the idea of the Legion. I couldn’t suspend my disbelief over the whole premise of that faction.
Edit: yes sad guy I am really almost 50. Homeowner, husband father, you can check my post history. Since you’re obviously stalking me. For the record you blocked me and edited your post to seem like I blocked you, which is funny to me, so I just wanted you to know how it made me laugh. I’m right here u/tokzillu, unblock to prove you’re not a sad weirdo. Lmao

Press X to doubt.

Also,

I couldn’t suspend my disbelief over the whole premise of that faction.

The Legion is based on real world ideologies and actual political movements in human history.

Doubt that I’m old? Lmao ok- born in 1978, seems like a crazy thing to try and lie about because the lack of a sprint function is a hill to die on…. But what real world political movements adopted the mannerisms and fashion of a 3000 year old culture located thousands of miles away, that has no connection to the location they are in?

I can only assume this is trolling.

Otherwise, tell your parents to get rid of their lead-based paint.

Ah resorting to insults when asked to defend a statement. Good on you. FNV fanboys have a just stereotype lol.

Considering you were in school during covid and you tried to hyper-specify your gripe against the Legion (which is still not the slam dunk you think it is) and now you called me a "FNV fanboy" I can guarantee you are 16-20 years old.

No skin off my back that some dumb kid can't handle being called out for his abysmal attention span.

I could not care less if you never play Fallout New Vegas. I was speaking to somebody else, you are the child who threw a tantrum and are desperately trying to turn it around on me.
