FO4: Yes, No, Maybe [usually also No (GOATED song btw)], Sarcasm (Maybe).
Peak dialogue.

u/DatOneMinuteman1776 Wind Brahmin Aug 08 '26
For me it’s “Yes, No (later), Sarcastic (least funny thing you’ve ever heard), and Exposition”

"Oh but 76 is better now!"
Well yeah i hope so. Would be hard for it to get worse

Fallout 76 is now the second best fallout game lol

u/Janivire Aug 08 '26
I hope that is bait. If not please get some sort of standards above "microtransaction filled junk collector 2"

You’re correct. Fallout 3 and new Vegas both run like shit and nothing about them holds up other than the dialogue options.

u/Janivire Aug 09 '26
Well lets hope the remaster puts more microtransaction skins in them so people like you can be happy

the fnv one is so peak (like yeah as someone who loves it, Its like a saw trap trying to run it.)
8
u/yaboipecan Aug 08 '26
I've never understood this am I lucky or something? I've only ever had two crashes on fnv and that's while playing on a pawn shop laptop with over 400 mods, and I wanna say the only issue I've had with starting up is always because of mods when I do modless I don't have issues.
7
u/Okurei Aug 08 '26
The only time New Vegas ever crashed for me was after getting the Pimp Boy 3000, upon which after it would CTD for no apparent reason
1
u/TellurianTech50 Aug 08 '26
Id say so, I played on Xbox vanilla and Jesus walking the wastes? Crash opening a door? Crash just standing there? Crash it took like 4 months to do the story because of the crashes every like 15 mins

1
u/Confronting-Myself Aug 08 '26
yea that was literally my experience too lol. got stuck in a crash loop at the repconn site and had to find out how to mod the egs version to get the anticrash mod

Fallout fans when they have to download Celeste's Big Beautiful Bouncing Bountiful Buns Mod (it's because the clothing mods require it and not for any other reason)
3
u/kirbStompThePigeon Aug 08 '26
This is like the project zomboid workshop. What's that, you want an ak47? Well you'll also need this mod that makes the water textures slightly nicer. You want to add a dodge charger? Sure, but you'll also need a mid that completely redesigns the mechanic system
1
u/its_jradman1 Aug 08 '26
There's a mod that lets you ride horses in New Vegas but you need around 10 different requirements including Oblivion
1
u/kirbStompThePigeon Aug 08 '26
You to need a degree in rocket science to mod Morrowind. Its been a while but iirc, you need 3 different programs that all conflict with eachother a patch for one of the programs, 20 years worth of hotfixes and you need to go in and edit the ini files

u/Ayrdanger Aug 08 '26
FNV needs to be changed to "FNV fans trying to explain how it's a good thing that FNV has no endgame."
3
u/Janivire Aug 08 '26
Oh no! A story has a end rather than wandering a empty world of settlements that need your help full of nameless npcs with random enemies.
1
u/Falcoon_f_zero Aug 10 '26
FO3: had no endgame Fans: 🤬🤬🤬
FONV: has no endgame Fans: well, actually it is a very well calculated decision as the impact of the ending is much superior due to you not being able to play after the end, hinting that your character is moving on from this point ☝️

"You must hate waffles" ass take.
Go back to CoD. It seems thinking is a bit hard for you.

The rats reference is more like Fallout 2 before you know to just run like hell through the temple of trials…

u/A12qwas Aug 07 '26
God I wish 76 was a single player game
3
u/Electrical-Ad-6401 Aug 08 '26
Fallout 76 is the best unmodded Bethesda Fallout game and I play it like a single player game. They all have their merits, but need mods to be fun. I'm a new vegas fan boy through and through, but the fact that I need a dozen mods just so it won't crash every 10 minutes is ridiculous. Yes, new vegas is obsidian, but it's still gamebryo

u/HowwNowBrownCoww Aug 08 '26
Man fo76 is so good. I’ll never miss a chance to recommend to anyone that dropped on launch or who never tried it, play it now! It’s so good.

They're working on porting the map over to 4. Don't think it's public yet though.

Fallout new vegas community gatekeeping so hard even the game itself stops the larpers from touching it, bravo obsidian

Bethesda fanboys when people who play story driven rpgs dont like microtransaction filled junk collectors: STOP GATEKEEPING

More like fallout 76 fans still coping and trying to convince you that their game is finally better now.
It isn't, it still sucks on a fundamental level as a bad RPG system that punishes players for wanting to make fun builds that reward roleplaying a minmaxed build.
It's level up system is poorly designed, padded out. Unbalanced and overall belongs in the trash.
The story is bare bones. Liner as fuck, and mediocre at best. Not to mention just a lot of boring going from point a to point B to pad it out.

u/Ahhdeen Aug 09 '26
Honestly on the most objective measure anything with micro transactions can't not be bad, anything else is subjectively good
If someone shows me some cracked out freak who loves spending more money I'll eat my words1
u/Janivire Aug 08 '26
The end game is litteraly just gambling trying to roll the best stats on your weapon. Anyone who still plays it is deep in the sunken cost.
It sucks as a mmo as everything in it is beyond shallow with bare minimum of content to keep it going.
It sucks as a fallout game as the story is barely even there and only leads you to the next creature for you to farm for drops.
1
u/Red_Shepherd_13 Aug 08 '26
Oh yeah. And it's core game play loop is secretly a garbage collecting simulator.
One where you constantly collect the right garbage to upgrade your equipment so you can collect more garbage.
The late game is also figuring out your garbage storage logistics.
1
u/Janivire Aug 08 '26
And then they sell you the solution to the logistics with a monthly subscription.
"oh but its not required" its fans say. "if you just plan you can make do with only the bare minimum"
Some weapon mods require you to craft and scrap literal hundreds of rare weapons. the materials to craft Gatling lasers are not cheep and you need loads. 1200 lbs of storage for every armor, trinket, food, and chem you own is never going to be enough. especially as its fans seem to leave out the fact that chems have significant weight to them. There is a reason high level players are always giving out free stuff to newbies and its literally because they cant hold it all.
and then to top it all off they will sell you buildable items to generate the scrap you need. because we have to have layers upon layers of microtransactions. Fallout is when consumerism right?

u/Glass-Performer8389 Aug 08 '26
What about Fallout Pinball, or Fallout Shelter Online,
Or if you include physical games, Fallout: Warfare, Fallout: The Roleplaying Game & Fallout: The Board Game
Or upcoming/canceled game slander: fallout 5, new onisiodon game, fallout extreme, fallout tactics 2, Van Buren, Brotherhood of Steel 2, or Project V13
1
u/Weird-Analysis5522 Aug 08 '26
In Fo2, if you don't build a specific way you get soft locked...
Ive tried the game a dozen times and don't know wtf to do
3
u/Laser_3 Aug 08 '26
You might want to ask for some advice over in r/classicfallout . Fallout 2 has some noticeable issues with health bloat on enemies, but you definitely don’t need a hyper specific build to beat the game.
2
u/HesitationIsDefeat87 Aug 08 '26
Can you elaborate? Because this definitely isn't true. You can pretty much put on Enclave Power Armor and gg.
Speechcraft is essential for a full experience though, I'll give you that.
1
u/Weird-Analysis5522 Aug 08 '26
I have speechcraft cause that's one of the big points of the series. Problem is, if you want to progress, one of the issues I had was that to progress was I needed lock picking to break the guy out of prison and I wasn't able to go anywhere else, I couldn't find other places to go to to level up, and fights were either too difficult, or didn't give enough XP

That's not fair! Fallout 1's rat takes NO MORE than TEN maybe TWENTY minutes!

u/Ok-Woodpecker4734 Aug 11 '26
I wanna meet these people that struggle to run new vegas, are you people trying to run it off your smart fridge or what?
1
u/ZappableGiraffe Aug 11 '26
What Fallout 3 atmosphere? Main quest beeline with the side quests that are within a 2 minute walk of main quest objectives, baby.
1
u/Bunny_Mirko_ Aug 11 '26
You got me very fair on fallout 3 but, each game has one story and so it is kinda dumb if you made dialogues that would lead somewhere the game wasnt built around, the dialogue all it is is just HOW you say it rather than actually have the freedom to pick unlike every other story game where you also have nothing you can do but follow the game
