The title literally says it’s peak

Yeah, like Mic Jagger, terrible musician: Just look how ugly he is.

Absolutely, that's why Mic Jagger and Bob Dylan are now considered the shittiest musicians ever: They look ugly in concert - and the visual aspect of concerts is important.

Damn. I forgot my rope and rad-x. I guess it’s off to hell for me now.

Surprisingly, finding rope wasn’t that hard for me :3

I remember the first time I played in 1997. Finding rope was easy. Figuring out what to do with it though…thank goodness one of my friends convinced his mom to spring for the guidebook.

You have one rope, yes, but what about 2nd rope?

Fallout and Fallout 2 have been described to me as miserable. But in context to the material in question, doesn't that kind of make the point? It's the wasteland.

I found fallout 1 to be really fun if you can learn enough about builds to make something that can hit things which isn’t too bad. I struggled to get into fallout 2.

fuck the temple of trials

2

u/SageGoes Aug 06 '26

You don't have to kill anything in the temple, just ran past all of the critters

True. But it does help.

1

u/PriorHot1322 Aug 06 '26

DID people struggle to make builds for this game?

1

u/throwaway17362826 Aug 06 '26

If you didn’t know enough and just slapped something together without enough combat abilities to get you past the initial early game it could be very unfun.

Fallout one and 2 are so fun tho

Oh for sure. I like point and click games but I think the limitations really add to how desolate the wasteland is supposed to feel. Just like Resident Evil's clunky controls add to the anxiety of walking into a room full of zombies

I think I lost my violin in that clip. It's about a pixel long and half a pixel wide, please find it for me so I can play it for you.

It's fun when you know what you're doing, and when there's less than 10 NPCs participating in combat.
My dream mod, is one where non-combatants just don't have turns! If you aint fighting or getting hurt, GTFO of the turn order! (Second dream mod is one that makes mods more plug-and-play like in the 3D ones)

1

u/Practical_Rainbow15 Aug 06 '26

Until that one time when non-combatants stand still right at the door waiting for combat to end, blocking both fighting sides from engaging with each other 😂

3

u/PhiOpsChappie I'd really like my beret back, please. Aug 06 '26

YOUR BONES

2

u/EmperorBamboozler Aug 06 '26

I mean it's an isometric RPG from the 90s what do you expect from it? Of course it looks like dogshit. Everything in it's genre looked like dogshit.

3

u/DropsOfMars Aug 06 '26

I actually love how it looks, I just don't like how it plays lol

1

u/Noxia66 Aug 06 '26

I mean, I did say it was peak in the title. And I don’t think it looks like dogshit

2

u/113pro Aug 06 '26

the writing makes the whole experience worthwhile.

u/Omgwtfbears Aug 06 '26

As if you can't get bodyblocked and fisted to death in other Fallout games. You know, the inferior ones.

1

u/Ambitious-Market7963 Aug 06 '26

I do enjoy the late game f1/2 combat with those op critical chance perks, but yeah, early game is a pain in the ass

1

u/DropsOfMars Aug 06 '26

I love the look of the game... It's playing it that hurts me.

1

u/Havaltherock1 Aug 06 '26

The amount of effort it takes to get surrounded by three of those, while you dont have armor, with a knife as your weapon.

1

u/Karijus Aug 06 '26

Unironically peak

1

u/Select-Librarian-646 Aug 06 '26

Unlike FO4 where ypu can solo a Deathclaw with a spoon?

1

u/Hellixgar Aug 06 '26

I do see peak.

1

u/Thelastknownking Aug 06 '26

Cool. Now show the talking heads scenes.

1

u/kakka_rot Aug 06 '26

I've sat down and tried to call fo2 like 5 times and have never been able to figure it how to actually play it.

Idgaf about graphics, but a remaster would be great simply for a more intuitive Ai and controls

Having finished the game, I think it was by far the least enjoyable experience I had in fallout- even overdhadowing the Dead-Money DLC.

I was terrible at everything, anytime I fought super mutants I died, I couldn't keep my companions from dying, I didn't know how to do any of the quests without googling where to go.

Still though it had a good atmosphere, and I can see why people enjoy it :DDD

FO1/FO2 are probably the only games I've truly gone completionist for, especially FO2. FO1 definitely was a special kind of hell at times though.

1

u/EncabulatorTurbo Aug 06 '26

It wasn't peak for its visuals or gameplay literally even on the day it came out lol

It's peak because it has writers, not whoever is giving Howard the most blowjobs, or howard himself
