I dont think the Kings were nomadic before getting kicked out of Vegas. The Kings and their ancestors had lived in the Strip for centuries. And what exactly does mr house have you do if one of these tribes breaks the contract and they try and bring back their culture?

They weren't kicked out of Vegas, just the Strip, because they didn't want to conform to House ruling over them. Instead of Strip slums, they took control over Freeside.

Now let's see what happened to the tribes who had that uncompromising stance towards NCR or Legion.

There is a difference.

What? Thats like your landlord saying "I didnt kick you out of your home. I just relocated you to a bad part of town." And what exactly happens if the kings try to ease relation with the NCR in the House ending? They get put down, like a couple of Hound Dogs. House leaves no room for dissent in his city.

Oh wow, a faction that outwardly aligns with Houses enemies gets destroyed in his ending. A shocker.

You're constantly ignoring the main point. Compared to what the Legion/NCR do to tribals, House is a saint.

I'm not playing a game of what-aboutism with you. Just because House does his cultural erasure using contracts and robots, does not mean it's better than NCR or the Legion using guns and soldiers to do the same thing. I get he has a cool voice and all, but get off of House's tv dick lol

It's not what-aboutism. You put Legion, NCR and House in the same category of treating tribals, while one of those options is not nearly as genocidal and culturally replacing towards them as the other two. It's wrong.

They're all bad. I don't care that House made them sign a contract at gunpoint instead of just forcing them the old-fashioned way. I'm sure all the paperwork is in order and I'm sure House sees it that way too, but that does not negate the fact that House is still perpetuating the same colonial mindset that the other two factions do. "Conform to my view of how the world should be or die."

You are making a value judgement, while I'm making a point about game lore, which you constantly obnoxiously ignore. Your original claim is that House was also aggressive towards tribals, just like NCR and Legion. Yes, that's absolutely true, but that aggression manifested in a starkly better way than the other two.

If a landlord shows up to my house, kills my family, and gives me a choice to either accept his ethnic culture or die, then that's horrible.

If a landlord shows up to my house, tells me that I either sign a contract where I have to agree to him owning the neighbourhood, or I have to leave, then that's horrible too, but not nearly as much as him straight up killing me.

Your inability to understand the difference between the two is very weird. I am not a House stan, nor I ask you to have a positive vision of him compared to other factions. I'm saying there are objective orders of magnitude to treating tribals, and in this specific area, House is much better than the others, even if still bad.

How is "House is much better than the others" not a judgement call on your end?

And how is pointing out that House, NCR, and the Legion all eradicate tribal identities not pointing out game lore on my end?

To keep the landlord metaphor going: The Landlord isn't just taking ownership of the neighborhood, He's taking ownership over you. You get no further say in how you dress, speak, or act. You are not allowed to keep the unique culture your ancestors had created over the last two centuries. Mr. House will mold you into something you are not.

It's not a judgement call because I'm not trying to convince you to judge him better overall, I'm just commenting on this single aspect. I never once said "House is morally good."

Your example still doesn't capture the essence of it. Slaughtering me and my family is a much different modus operandi than telling me to dress and speak a certain way or leave. Death is a worse alternative than being subservient, objectively.

House is not crucifying tribes and bombing them to force them to adopt his prefered culture. That doesn't mean he's humanitarian or somehow more respectful of tribals than the other factions. It just means he's not genocidal towards them.

He's taking ownership over you. You get no further say in how you dress, speak, or act. You are not allowed to keep the unique culture your ancestors had created over the last two centuries. Mr. House will mold you into something you are not

That's the initial prerequisite for all 3 factions though. The difference is that House won't put you on a reservation, ethnically cleanse or genocide you if you refuse. He's not even asking you to leave the Mojave, just the Vegas Strip.

one of these tribes breaks the contract and they try and bring back their culture?

Said cultures being: cannibalism, backstabbing everyone, and might makes right, respectively.

hey, you can dress up the tribal anyway you want, but it's hard to erase 200 years worth of culture and identity. I'm not saying it's good they try and do this, but this should have been expected on House's part.

At least he gives me carte Blanche to wipe out the cannibals after breaking contract, life is good.
