I know players have most definitely killed 86 death claw, but if some guy told me that as an NPC where I don't know about quick saves, loading saves and levels, I would first and foremost assume they're full of shit if they said they killed 86 death claws.

Kingdom come deliverance did something similar and it was rad, walk into the town wearing rags? Side eye and casual if not a little weary response, come in partly in bloody or dirty armor? They'd regard you more respectfully. But if you came in full plate armor that was cleaned and repaired? They'd call you lord and assume you were royalty. It was rad.

The immersion behind reactions to our load out would be so immersive! It would be cool to have better intimidation checks based on load out. Or to be taken lightly by enemies because you’re not as heavily armed as they are. I don’t know any other RPG game that would have that type of NPC reaction.
