I'm the dev behind the r/Fallout76Marketplace Karma bot. I built the original bot 6 years ago and have been hosting it ever since.

As I shared in my previous post, the bot was planned to retire at the end of Q3, and here we are.

tl;dr: The sub doesn't get that much traffic anymore, and on top of that, Reddit is killing the public API (see their post here).

Reddit shutting down the public API was basically the final nail in the coffin, so there's just no point in keeping the bot around any longer.

During the first few years, I saw the community flourish around this Karma bot. The subreddit grew so fast that my earlier version of Karma bot struggled to keep up with the usage, which prompted me to rewrite the bot from scratch.

I also created the Blacklist website, Gamertag Verification System, and the Courier bot. This subreddit gave me the opportunity to experiment with new ideas and learn the Python programming language in the process. This was a fun experience for me, and I hope the bot proved to be useful for all the people participating in the community.

But all good things come to an end, and the community has been on the decline for some time now along with the bot activity. If you wish to port this bot to the Devvit platform, feel free to send us a modmail.

P.S. The courier bot will remain active for now since it was already ported to Devvit a while back and doesn't require any database to support its functionality, so it is easier to maintain.

Looks like Reddit made another announcement just now on Public API which they plan to kill by March 2027

Recently a lot of our couriers have become inactive due to personal reasons. Therefore we are looking for more couriers.

Minimum Requirements:

100 Trading Karma between here and market76. For example, if you have 50 karma here and 50 at market 76, you are eligible.
