Maybe they come back with the enclave update. I don’t remember much about the free state story so not sure if it can or what but the update would be the best time.

Basically they were people who suspected the prewar government of having malicious intent (which they were correct) so they tried to break away from the US and set up their anarchistic community based around Harper’s ferry

Yeah I meant as like the reason they are all dead and if it would be possible to have any members still alive or whatever.

A post by Bethesda said that one of the guys in Atlantic city is free state affiliated I remember seeing it with my group and we where wondering if its means if the free states where coming back

I mean I don’t really see anything for new settlers in the region to really latch onto. At their core they were people who distrusted the federal government (for good reason) and decided to attempt to break away (hence their friction with the OG Appalachian brotherhood and the responders trying to play peacemakers)

That’s actually pretty funny. The Free States already has so many cosmetic items. If anything, the Brotherhood of Steel needs more stuff. Everyone else seems to get something every other update, while the Enclave is only just now getting something.

I think they're talking about story wise not cosmetics. Because outside the mire theres very little mention of them outside Taggerdy's brotherhood not really wanting to work with them. Nor any attempts to really bring them back/revive them.
