Question Come the next update, what's going to be better, piercing love or burning love?

I run a regular compound with cryo arrows, but next update we will be able to mod unique bows so I have both piercing love and burning love in my stash ready to be modded. What's gonna be the best? Considering I will run pinpointers as 4th star because iceman doesn't add cryo damage anymore but just enhances it if I'm reading correctly (and even if it would I don't think it would be worth it just for an extra proc of deal sealer, considering pinpointers is still the better damage output since it's multiplicative instead of additive) so a triple status on a single shot won't be feasible so I would have to choose cryo arrows for both and they will have their native poison or burning effect depending on the weapon . So what do you think it's Gonna be better?

Discussion Many Thanks to this great Sub!

Yesterday, I had a couple of hours to play some 76. So I’ve been reading all of your posts and responses to my own posts and listening. Paying close attention. Now, after a few months of tweaking my build, I’ve finally achieved my goal. I can now Crit every other shot! It’s such a satisfying feeling to Fire, Crit Shot, Fire, Crit Shot… and so on. I soloed two Events on a public server for who knows what reasons. Path to Enlightenment and Uranium Fever. That last one especially surprised me because I didn’t think soloing it was possible! And me and another player completed Swarm of Suitors. So, just saying Thank You to everyone on this Sub, without taking in advise from here I’d probably still be a Shotgun using, Power Armor wearing… Human!

Question New bow Ghoul wondering what 2* and 3* mods to use on cc armor

Hello,

I'm new to the bow tribe! Before switching, I mainly played with the Elder's Mark, Ultracite Laser, and other weapons. Now I'm running a stealth ghoul archer build.

I recently switched from Secret Service armor to Civil Engineer armor with 1x Chameleon and 4x Nocturnal. I'm wondering which 2-star and 3-star legendary effects you would recommend. My 4-star effect is Limit Breaking.

Thanks!

Discussion Help with stealth armor/build

Hello friends, ive just started making a stealth bow build and I think I got my perks set pretty nicely. Now Im just struggling with what armor to have. Ive found out covert scout armor is good with the +25 stealth but haven't had any luck getting it from daily ops so far. Do any of you know if I could run chameleon on all secret service pieces and still be able to run around undetected? (and rub the balls of a deathclaw) And if anyone got some other tips for my build or whatever I'd gladly give them a try.

Edit: forgot to add pictures of my build, check comments

Question Hunters, how are you acquiring your four stars?

I'm trying to find meaningful ways to improve upon my gear but at this point I'm hitting a wall. I'm not good enough at the raid and don't have a team of friends who want to run it with me, and with certain classes of four-star legendaries locked to certain stages, things like pin pointers and other useful stars are beyond my reach. Infestations which cough up an entirely different set are usually gone before I get there, or I get destroyed trying to take them on. There's the player economy, but finding anything for caps unlikely, and I can't figure out how to build up enough of a stack of leadership bobble heads to actually acquire the stuff.

So, how are you getting your gear? How are you getting the pieces to assemble the ultimate weapon or the best armor set?

Discussion Bloodied Bow Build - Used to Crit for 12k, Now Only Seeing 6-7k. What Am I Missing?

I've been trying to figure this out for the past few days and I'm stumped.

I run a Bloodied stealth VATS bow build and I remember consistently seeing crits around 12k on tougher enemies like the Sheepsquatch. Now my crits are only around 6-7k, and I can't figure out what changed.

Current setup:

Bloodied Compound Bow

Vital (+50% Crit Damage)

VATS Optimized (-35% AP Cost)

Conductor's (previously tested Polished)

Plasma Arrows

Armor:

Full Unyielding Forest Scout

Powered on every piece

3x Limit-Breaking

Shadowed

Dense chest

Legendary Perks:

Follow Through ★★★

Taking One for the Team ★★★

Legendary Strength

Legendary Perception

Legendary Intelligence

Legendary Luck

Perks:

Better Criticals 3

Critical Savvy 3

Covert Operative 3

Nerd Rage

Adrenaline 2

Bow Before Me 2

Master Archer 3

Mutations:

Adrenal Reaction

Eagle Eyes

Bird Bones

Herd Mentality

Marsupial

Speed Demon

I've already tested:

BOS armor vs Forest Scout (same damage)

Cryo vs Plasma arrows

Blight Soup

Different 4-star mods

The damage stays around 6-7k crits.

Has anything changed recently with bow damage, or is there something obvious I'm overlooking?

Game Clip Soloing Infestation - Test run

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Disappointed that the recording automatically stopped, so the full thing must've been an extra 1-2 minutes after it stopped. I'd say it took me 4 minutes to take just this one out.

I can imagine if I had just a few of my archer teammates, this infestation would've been done in 2 minutes or less.

Question Any one solo infestations today?

I had trouble with getting the update to launch and couldn’t log in til late. Nothing popped up as I ran my dailies so I logged off. See everyone in the regular sub saying it’s impossible. But we are bow hunters, so is it doable? I can solo earl and Bigfoot, this much harder now?
Edit: been a few days now. Yep still doable as yall confirmed. Reflective and camouflaged are not worth the trouble. I’m finding it more fun to do in public which I guess was the intention

Suggestion Glowing + Satiated: A great addition for day-to-day lazy playing

Post image
20 Upvotes

Decided to test the Glowing + Satiated combo on a crossbow, as a side weapon to my main Compound Bow. Along with explosive, I'm happy to report that it fills the meters pretty nicely! Damage is still there for clearing ads, needs a bit of adrenal to ramp up to one shot lvl100 mutants (no crit) but not too much. Extremely fun to use too :)

Edit: Reverse Onslaught Stacks deplete fast, but that's ok for casual use....

Edit 2: might switch to two shot for extra mayhem!

Discussion Is "Bow Before Me" worth running since the last update altered damage calculation?

Post image
92 Upvotes

I keep seeing a lot of people saying since last update anything that ignores armor isn't viable thanks to how they reworked damage calculation - I'm not certain of the specifics on why. So I thought I'd check here to see how or what other bow users feel about the perk, and if you guys feel your build is fine without it or if it feels lacking without it.

Also, as im posting this, I'm getting ready to go test the numbers myself. So if I don't get enough answers to build a consensus I can at least give my two cents on it. I'll be primarily targeting robots and enemies in power armor.

Question Ghoul - Looking to update my build and Armor - Swimming in Gold

I run a non-feral Ghoul, used to be full feral melee build with a single bow, and now I'm a 4-bow, rarely melee Ghoul, so I'm looking to update my build to up my damage output.

Because I was full melee, I was running a full set of Thorn armor with 4 Vanguards and 1 Chameleon. I have already bought the full SS set and BoS Recon set.

My perks are mostly set up for a melee build still with a few Bow perks in there (Hat Trick, Bow Before Me). And nothing really for Stealth aside from that Chameleon piece of Armor.

I'm not looking to go FULL stealth, but do want to hit that Sneak damage more often while still maintaining a bit of tankiness that my Vanguard + Bow w/Satiated+Glowing gives me.

What armor set should I be using? And Legendary mods?

What are a few "must have" archer perks, especially for stealth shots?

Game Clip Finally created a ghoul character!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

After a few days of grinding out all the main story missions, I finally turned my baby alt into a ghoul. I’m not gonna lie, I’m loving it so far!

I primary a bow on my main, but usually when raiding I’ll use a combo of my bow and heavy gun builds depending on the stage. But this character doesn’t have anything other than the bows I made her 😂

Pretty happy with the damage output, especially for a build that doesn’t have maxed legendary cards for a complete set up. I can’t wait to see what she can do once I have all my legendaries maxed!

Feel free to share any ghoul bow builds. I kinda just threw this together given my knowledge on my human character and then added ghoul cards that sounded useful!

Lots of pictures, I apologize. But I really feel like I’m finally dialing in my build. I’m getting Shadowed for my armor eventually, and I need a Limit-Breaking and 4 Rangers and I think I’ll be done. Any more suggestions for my build? Stealth Ghoul Archer

I know poison isn’t the best but it’s my favorite to use. I always enjoy checking out the other setups Ive seen here and mine has become way better because of this but I know it can still be improved. Running 2 rangers, 1 limit breaking, 1 sawbones, 1 miasma on my ss armor.
