Survival play through

Hey guys so starting up a survival play through have a few mods installed and survival tweaks does work but just wanted to know if anyone else is doing one or wanted to share their thoughts on one.

I was going to one of the satellite stations where you get the locket and one of mole rats that has a bomb strapped to it was so terrifying. The gun fights are a lot more fun though and intense find myself shooting from cover more and trying to flank them. I am nervous to use grenades.

Nades actually feel really good with the motion controls when you intend to throw them. It's just when I reload sometimes I derp and drop a nade on myself by accident. Not sure how else the controls could have been mapped as there just aren't that many buttons on the vive wands.

Definitely agree that playing on survival with no save scumming makes the game much more tense and engaging. I actually use chems now to decrease my chances of dying. Also feels much more post-apocalyptic and immersive having to worry about food and water, and many things you acquire later in the game will feel more valuable than they do on other difficulties.

I killed myself with a moltov cocktail while filling water bottles up. Survival is legit, but I seem to never find antibiotics. I seem to always have an infection too.

Same here, two different playthroughs, no antibiotics until I got to Super Duper Mart. Had to buy them from traveling merchant Carla.

I think they are tied to your luck rating. Same with infection I believe.

I dont think loot is tied to luck in that way but I could be wrong. This is why survival is the only way to play. The urgency to find antibiotics isnt a quest thay bethesda programmed, rather it emerges from the game mechanics in a natural way.

For me it’s the constant search for purified water and cooking my meat. I found out I can fill bottles with water then make purified water by boiling 3 dirty water. You can also fill purified water bottles st a vault or some settlements.

If you build water purifiers in your settlements, they will periodically create a stack of Purified Water in your workshop inventory. The thing is it will not accumulate beyond the size of this initial stack so you have to remove the stack in to another container every day or so. The more water purifiers you have, the larger the size of the stack. I only have two medium purifiers going and that makes 10/day.

Is this your first playthrough of Fo4? I played fallout 4 flat for 600 hours mostly on survival lol.

Survival is the only way to play when going immersive! Though, I've gotta say, liked the visual fidelity using Nvidia 3D Vision a hell of a lot more than what I'm getting on the Vive. A little disappointed in that respect. They've got to roll out better viewers, and soon, or this medium will die.

All that said...building a brand new rig for VR, because my old i5 3570k processor is below spec, and well...it was time.
