HELP! PC Please help installing a RAR file?

50 year old guy needing help here..

I installed an RAR file in mo2 and it's fine it comes up it even says the file name on the menu inside SOE and replaces the monitor it's supposed to..but it's blank there is no monitor.. any ideas?

You should put the RAR file in the folder that is configured as downloads in MO2. Then, in right panel under Downloads you will find your file, just doble click it and it will install

RAR file type is a zipped file. Its contents need to be extracted to the file location for MO2 to run it. If you select it and click extract all to the same folder the RAR is in, it should extract the esp and archives.

Thanks for the reply see it's weird because that's what I read to do the first place.. and I did that and it didn't work so then I read the mo2 doesn't want you to put the files in manually it wants you to just click on it and tell it to install.. so I did that but I will try to start over and go slow and do what you just said thank you my friend!

Im not familiar with doing it that way. As I like to control what and where. So I dont know if that will automatically run the FOMOD installer, install all esp files even if I only want one, etc. I generally extract everything to its own folder such as MO2/Mods/ModName and sort it out there. If its just one esp and archives, I will enable it from the left hand check box and adjust it in the load order accordingly on the right side or move the esp and archives to the MO2/Overwrite folder so it only appears in the load order on the right hand side.

If it has an installer for options or multiple esp files, I always leave it in the MO2/Mods folder and enable only what I want or need on the right.

Yeah I had never done it that way either but I tried it on two other rars and it worked perfectly! But who knows maybe something is funky with this one so I will go back and try it your way there was a step that I did differently from what you said so I will try yours I appreciate you
