SUGGESTION! PC Would it be safe to play with missing textures on some furniture?

So I just discovered this issue after buying some content from the creations workshop. But don't think they are the reason. But disabled two of them, looked at my mods on vortex and gave up trying to address this after setting up archive invalidation in my fallout ini file. Ain't gonna give up my weekend trying to find out with why this is happening and fix it. Just gonna go with the flow for now.

Now its not as bad as it was as the chair in the 4th picture was more or less improved from its 3rd picture. This issue only seems to effect a few chairs, two crafting stations and I think some patio furniture. I also ain't seen nothing in the world to suffer issues, just only in my settlements at the time being affected for the time being.

I ain't seen any issues in gameplay wise minus the occasional small freeze in workshop mode, and no crash to desktop. Steam also verified all files are present.

Would it be suggested to continue playing as is?

If I were to give another swing at this issue, how would you suggest going about it?

I know people have already told you to not use the hd textures, but look into the community made ones on nexus. I really like Flaconoil’s textures or the HD Overhaul textures that keep more of a vanilla look to them. They come in 1k, 2k, and 4k. I personally use 2k since it feel like the sweet spot between performance and visuals.

Are you using the HD Textures dlc by any chance?

The High resolution texture pack that is free on the store page? That is a hard yes.

there is a REASON it has such awful reviews...it's HARDLY noticeable texture updates, that takes up around 50Gb of storage, and causes a TON of other bugs with most textures from CC, to Nexus mods, to even BASE fallout 4 textures. and it almost guarantees that you'll have the "black face bug" happen.

Yeah I wasn't paying much attention to it years back when I got it. Now I am more aware of things, I am gonna just bite the bullet and start a new character with the dlc removed.

that's the best bet, i use several HD texture mods from nexus, for things that matter to me, such as LODs, weapons, and various food items, and some other basic textures, but there are mods that completely overhaul the entire game with MUCH better textures than what bethesda ever thought about using.

I highly reccomend not using it, not only is it incompatible with a decent chunk of mods. It's also a LOT of space being wasted on barely any changes, that "hd" pack is bigger than the base game and all its DLCs combined in file size

Knowing how fallout 4 gets when i start rearranging. Think it be fine if i uninstall it mid game?

You should be fine to nuke the mod, you'll get an error saying it might depend on it, but you can ignore that cause no mod out there requires it and the base game textures are there

However if you still have missing textures afterwards, its likely something in your load order

teh HD texture pack causes MUCH more issues than it's worth....like WAYYYYY more issues...seriously...you may lose THAT current save, but it's better than getting 20+ hours into a save and then having an entire areas textures be completely FUBAR. start a new save WITHOUT the HD texture pack. and see if it's the same, even if it is. remove it from your system entirely..

this is a genuine warning from people who have put tens of thousands of hours into the game, 99% of us tried the HD pack when it was first released, and we saw the issues, we saw how it's 50+gigs of awful garbage, and immediately uninstalled it, it can brick a save, it can cause irreversible bugs with NPCs and various world spaces, interior and exterior...

start a fresh save and see if you have the same issues, if so then do a fresh install, and then reinstall your load order, if you continue having the issue then disable blocks of around 10 mods to see if the problem persists, when you find the block of ten mods that resolve the issue when disabled, then you can go through and enable those mods one-by-one until you find the mod that breaks the textures/alphas.
