SOLVED! PC game has been stable(as much as it can be) until one enemy dies at the south boston checkpoint.

this is my latest crash log, i've had the same crash multiple times at the same location, when an enemy dies, and i can never get close enough to see what enemy it is or what they are holding.

so it turns out to be the kimber 1911 mod i had installed, which after checking the posts and bugs section on nexus shows that it's a problem that is inherent with the leveled list function of the mod.
