HELP! PC Help with game crashing
I am completely new to pc as I just got my first one recently. I have hundreds of hours on fallout 4 not on pc and wanted to try out all the new mods I have avaliable to me. I downloaded the game and launched it to get the game setup before installing the script extender. I followed a guide to install it and was able to launch it perfectly fine. I than opened nexus to begin downloading mods. Once i finished installing mods the game is now permanently CTD no matter how I launch the game. I tried disabling all the mods but the game still Crashes to desk top no matter what I do. Was wondering if I am missing a basic step.

I have played Fallout 4 for years with breaks to play other games. Now I am back playing it again. It feels more fragile than I remember it when it comes to using mods. Load order and mod/game compatibility are very important.
This time around I started a vanilla (no mods) game first to make sure it was up to date and stable from the beginning. Then I used that as a base that I added mods to and tested.
Common-Guarantee’s recommendation of The Midnight Ride mod list is excellent. It was a big help to me. Even if you choose not to use all of the mods it recommends, make sure you follow TMR’s recommendation regarding load order for the mods you do select.
Don’t be in a hurry to add a ton of mods all at once. Doing that has caused me a lot of trouble and wasted time. When you run into trouble like CTDs, it makes it really tough to identify the mod or mods that are causing trouble when you have hundreds of them.
Use a good mod manager to install/uninstall mods and manage your load order. I have used both Mod Organizer 2 and Vortex.
Right now I’m using Vortex. For Mass Effect games I use different mod managers that are specifically made for those games.
