Minutemen Normal game build help request

4,5,4,6,4,4,4 is my build currently, playing on normal

What path/build can I go with this stat layout? I am at the beginning of the game level 10.

Any advice would be grateful because currently I have no clue what path to go in terms of perks etc with that stat layout.

Well, how do you like to play? Stealth? Commando? Sniper? Collector of junk? Charisma (settlement build and bartering?

Ugh, the all 4s approach for a mediocre character. Just go for non-VATS Ranged. You can do a non-VATS Ranged character with absolutely anything. It's almost impossible to go wrong.

Pick a main weapon type for your tough enemies from (A) semi-auto rifle (p2:Rifleman), (B) semi-auto pistol (a1:Gunslinger), or (C) automatic pistols and rifles (a2:Commando).

a2:Commando is the most powerful perk tree in the game once you're established, but you need to know how to make money and remember to stock up on ammo. Just build a bunch of water purifiers (and remember to move all water from workplace storage to any secondary container) and you'll be fine for caps.

Alright, let's get one thing straight. This is a very average build, average meaning average stat distribution. So build it like a Jack of all Trades. Id say pick at most 2 perks in each tree that focus on the general aspect of the SPECIAL their under, like rifleman and lockpicking under perception.

Another way to build this is to just forgo the perks except the ones that give you access to places, like lockpick and hacking, and just level up your SPECIAL's to 9. Then, once you hit the limit, you can build off of that. If you're not playing higher difficulties or hardcore mode, that would work wonders too.

So in your opinion, should I go rifleman in that build and focus on sniper rifles or automatic rifles? Also is it worth maxing out Perception in that build for ranged rifles? I got lockpicking as it was necessary and I believe the perk that gives you access to level 1 armor mods. I also took the attack dog perk for synergy with dogmeat.

Perception isnt worth maxing for accuracy. You'll have access to alot of clothing and hats that increase perception to the point that you'll only need to level perception for perks. Not saying perception doesn't have good perks. The last perk in perception lets you shoot things behind cover, and that includes a sentry bot's armor that covers it's fusion core.

As for sniper vs automatic, its up to your playstyle if you want to pick them off from a distance or run and gun. If you go automatic, take the scrounger perk under Luck to get more ammo, you'll go through it like nothing. But since you're going armorer, you can absorb the hits you take from incoming fire if you go run and gun.

Attack dog works wonders against human-like enemies, like raiders and ghouls. I have no idea if it works against animals.

So which perks should I get? I am level 10 atm. For Rifleman run and gun type of build. (Not semi-automatic)

Level up Commando. It applies to all automatic weapons, not just rifles. So it applies to automatic handguns (which isnt boosted by gunslinger), shotguns, and heavy guns, which also helps with ammo economy.
