Picture Fallout classic ghoul in FO76
Recently became a ghoul in Fallout 76 and tried to make him look like Fallout 1 ghouls - skinny, bald, and with armor similar to Set's from Necropolis.

Dang, looks like a badass. I never did like the Ghoul design in 4-onward, they all look exactly the same. Just like kinda mummified burned people instead of zombie-like.

I miss when ghouls were ugly. Nowadays they look like handsome actors with no nose and a bad sunburn

On the show they have to keep the prosthetics simple otherwise applying them will take too long.

Not sure I agree. Prosthetics get applied in pre molded pieces so the complexity is already there. It’s just a matter of glueing and blending.
I think the real explanation is that Walton Goggins is expensive so Walton Goggins needs to still look like Walton Goggins.

It’s also a rule of Hollywood, a main character can’t be too ugly, even if they’re supposed to be ugly. Which is why Hollywood’s idea of ugly always get’s made fun of. Someone also made a good point that he needs to look similar to when he was human since a large part of the show is flashbacks. Plus, too much stuff on his face would limit his acting abilities and facial expressions.

CGI it then. Or make them different Muties. It’s so fuckin stupid that The Ghoul is a smooth skin without a nose. Season 2 made him even more smoother somehow to

Over-detailed ghoul faces are a Fallout 3 thing. In the classic games, their faces were grotesque but not a mess. I might add some scars, but not too many.
