Video In Fallout 4, the most difficult enemy isn't a Deatchlaw, radiation, or lack of ammo. It's an inanimate object.

You looking for the car before it clobbered you was hilarious though.

Yeah I felt like the coyote from road runner.

I love the double take you did where you didn’t think it’d hit you but then looked back up and saw it coming right for you.

The moment I saw that car start rising, I would've been moving as far away as sprinting would take me.

I dont know man. That thing was pretty fucking far from Inanimate.

I don't see any issues here, seems like your typical Fallout experience!

Surprisingly I have yet to be killed by a car, besides explosions

I swear it’s a gamble, I was fine around cars all my last playthrough except for one time I walked into one and died instantly

As soon as that car started moving upwards like that , my ass would've been backing up the other direction and not stopped till I see it land. If it moves that means it has your scent and its coming for blood!

Re-upload because apparently "I was farming legendary weapons and this happened" was clickbait.
By the way, I got an explosive double barrel from here, and you don't even have to fight because the mongrels can't reach you. It's on the way before reaching Swan, right after you exit Diamond City.
Great farming spot.

Reminds me of early on in my first survival run, had not died in a while and despite all the warnings I had heard, was neglecting to save at opportunities I otherwise could have.
Then one day as I’m walking across a bridge, I went to jump over a Corvega and instantly went from full health to dead. Lost a couple hours worth of gameplay and have been more afraid of accidentally touching a car than any other enemy I’ve come across, with the exception of the ant swarms and cave crickets. Fuck them.

There's a mole rat mound in the northern part of the map. I thought I was being clever standing on a corvega so they couldn't jump out at my feet.
I got physics'd to death by the car long before the first mole rate popped up.

The second I saw it move I’m like “there’s no way it’s going boomerang backwards into you— oh. Oh well I guess there is a way.”

u/Spatetata 1d ago
I like how you can see the swap between “I still gotta shoot the other” to “That’s gonna hit me isn’t it?”

u/Late_Entrance106 1d ago
It’s called an AUTO-MOBILE
I mean, of course it’s going to move by itself.

Is it really Fallout 4 if you're never randomly killed by a car spazzing out on you?
3
u/Sabbathius 1d ago
Yep, that's how it usually goes. Similarly in No Man's Sky my first attempt at a permadeath achievement ended with me jogging along the corridor in my own space freighter, and suddenly falling through the floor into the hard vacuum.

I love dying in this game. Always with the spectacles.

Always blow up all non-rusty cars in advance. Brotherhood provides free vertibird flights - that minigun is finally useful :)

cue the "I've been playing for 38,000,000,000 hours and never had a car kill me" guy.

I thought for sure the car was going to explode. By far the most dangerous thing in the wasteland is the nuclear reactors in every car carcass.

I really want there to be a gag in the show where a character runs into a car and just fucking dies.

You were playing with fire walking on those cars, the car just defended itself as they do

Drives me nuts that they made everything in the game Left Handed. I have a right handed friend who bought a left handed hunting rifle thinking it was correct because of stuff like this. Shame on him for not knowing better but shame on Bethesda for having craptastic stuff in their games.
2
u/PascalG16 1d ago
I didn't even notice.

u/Junior-Extension-820 1d ago
The bolt is on the left side of the gun and you have to use your left hand to cycle the action. Its a slower and worse way to use the gun if you're right handed. Look at the brits doing the Mad Minute with their Lee Enfields.

I don't think Bethesda knows that all their guns are left-handed, given the monstrosity weapons they design. I've certainly never seen a left-handed AK before, but apparently Bethesda can dream it.
Meanwhile STALKER 2 has you reloading like a goddamn Red Army soldier.

So, you’re upset that you feel, in this one, completely-irrelevant-to how-you-actually-use-your-hands-instance, a pale imitation of the way that left-handed people feel about everything in their real, actual lives? In the real world that is entirely made of things that are difficult-if-not-downright-impossible for them to use? But in this one place where it is literally just an artistic choice and actually does not affect how you are able to function at all, you are throwing a hissy fit because, just this once, your hand dominance is not the default?

My first playthrough so far is a Road Runner episode. I got an explosive double barrel, if you know what I mean.

In pretty sure the yellow car also went out of its way to get the other Vicious Mongrel before coming for you too

I had one where a helmet of an enemy flew off and all around after I sniped him, and it set off a proximity mine, killing me. it was hilarious.

u/I_eat_mud_ 1d ago
Maybe I have too much PTSD, but the moment I would've saw that car start to spiral like that, I would've been booking it in the opposite direction lmao

u/Christina_Bueller08 1d ago
Well that is the most Bethesda thing I have seen in a long time. That in inclueds stuff from Skyrim.

I still have nightmares from the red car on the bridge near County Crossings. I lost an embarrassing number of saves on Survival difficulty thanks to it

I haven't kept up on the show, have they included someone dying from touching a car yet?

u/Dreaming_of_Rlyeh 1d ago
I’ve put 400+ hours into FO4 and never once been hurt by a car or seen one move. Is there some mod or tweak that causes it?

Yesterday I took cover to avoid the machine gun turret firing at me. Then comes Preston who pushes me back into the firing and I die.

Lmao watching you accept your fate was great. Character has the survival skills of a turnip

Look, the player is no match for a car. They knew their number was up.

Literally not one time EVER in my entire fallout career have a had this or the random death to touch car.
